We visited this Indian restaurant last night & overall had a great experience. The food was delicious , we ordered dal makhni & some breads, which were excellent. The chicken dish was a bit on the spicier side for us, so we couldn't fully enjoy it, but that's more of a personal spice tolerance.
The service was warm, attentive, & genuinely appreciated.
Just a small suggestion for the owner: the downstairs washrooms could use a bit more attention. The garbage bin was full with napkins spilling onto the floor, & the floor was quite wet without a visible wet-floor sign, which could be a slipping hazard. Regular washroom checks would really help.
Being from the same industry, I understand how important these details are. That said, it was still a very positive experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-star rating , we'll definitely be back & will happily spread the word to support the restaurant.
Beautiful establishment despite some tacky plastic leis hanging all over. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived (2 other couples showed up later), so we were seated at a front window. Unfortunately our view on this romantic snowy night was a giant pile of black garbage bags. The cocktails were basic, & not great. Tasty naan, but we weren't wowed by the food. We ordered the shrimp entree, palak burrata, rara chicken, veggie rice, & garlic naan. Not the elevated Indian food that we were expecting from the photos viewed online.
The butter chicken had bones from the thigh chicken meat, just below careful eating this.
we had lovely lunch , the host was very nice & attentive.
the food was delicious
we had ,Lucknowi Lamb Korma , Butter Chicken & Shrimp Moilee
with medium level spicy
aside with rice & Garlic naan
definitely recommend them.
also their cocktails were strong
so it worth trying
overall, it was nice experience
definitely recommend it
Food was delicious, we tried veg korma, dal makhani & malai tikka chicken among them malai chicken tikka wins our heart which was perfectly cooked, the juice that came from the chicken was something that paralyzed our tongue. At last we order the tea which was sweet & who served us the lady Anna was more sweeter than the sweet tea. Thanks for your warm hospitality.
The unconstructed samosa was just wonderful & the lamb korma & the chicken masala were full of flavor. Great old town restaurant that's worth a stop if you're in the area.
Great food, ambience & service! We loved the Lamb Korma, Chicken Rara & our excellent server Anna
I had only one night in Montreal & couldn't imagine a better dining experience! Restaurant Veranda had a cozy & inviting atmosphere & a delicious assortment of Indian dishes. I tried the pani puri & the butter chicken & it was some of the best I've had. The service was also wonderful- Lena was so attentive & Mohit made me feel like family while dining alone! A must visit if you're in the area!
Very delicious Butter Chicken. Beautiful restaurant with lovely decor. They also have a very large private terrace with heaters. Highly recommend this new restaurant right across from Marché Bonsecours
From the very first bite, Veranda proves itself to be more than just a restaurant-it's an experience. The artistry of each dish balances refined presentation with the soulful spice of India, creating a harmony that feels both familiar & transporting.
The evening began with a playful starter that looked like art on a plate-crispy shells crowned with yogurt, tamarind, & herbs, each bite bursting with texture & brightness. It set the stage for the mains, where comfort & luxury met in bowls of velvety curries. The butter chicken was as indulgent as it was balanced, while the paneer & dal carried layers of depth & warmth that lingered well past the last bite. Fresh naan, blistered & golden, pulled everything together like the perfect supporting act.
Even the cocktail list tells a story-Whispers of Veranda, a martini kissed with a delicate drop of mint essence, was as refreshing as it was refined. Crafted with care by Zora, a bartender whose talent & warmth elevate the entire bar experience, it felt like the perfect expression of the restaurant itself.
Hospitality here deserves its own applause. Manager Mohit leads with genuine warmth & attentiveness, ensuring every guest feels not only welcomed but truly cared for. Together with the team, he creates an atmosphere that is as memorable as the food itself.
The experience is as much about ambiance as it is about flavor-flowers on the bar, attentive service, & plates presented with elegance that invite you to slow down & savor.
In short: Veranda is a place where tradition & innovation sit side by side, each dish & drink a quiet celebration of culture, craft, & care.
Perfect in every aspect - flavors, spice blends & presentation were amazing. Best Indian meal experience. The basmati rice, naan & our main chicken dishes were absolutely delicious. The staff is attentive & pleasant. A wonderful find & a definite repeat.
Great decoration, beautiful terrace. The food is good, had the vegetables & chicken. Great service 😀
One of the best RARA Chicken I've had in years! A big thanks to Chef Rajeev for taking us back home to India with his flavorful creations. The dal is also a must-try, & the samosa tart is simply outstanding-so unique & delicious.
If you're visiting Old Montreal, Veranda is a place you shouldn't miss. & a special thanks to Leena for serving us with so much love & warmth.
Best described as bizarre. Wait staff too attentive but seemed like they were working to direct orders on how to make every move which made every interaction an awkward dance. Food was ok but something was off…the chicken in the butter chicken didn't taste like the butter chicken..hard to describe but it's there. Nice place but I wouldn't stop again.
Well decorated restaurant. Nice bar with good drinks. The food was very tasty. Butter chicken & a slightly spicy lamb. Service was also very good.
We enjoyed the samosa tart, parata, minced chicken dish, & lamb josh. The ingredients were of a very high quality, & the dishes were tender, flavorful, & you can tell where the results of long slow cooking. We ate lunch in the beautiful of your outdoor patio & highly recommend it!
Absolutely outstanding. We learned that this restaurant just opened a few months ago. & oh wow. The food was outstanding. The naan was probably one of the best we have ever had (& we love indian food!)
I have no doubt that this restaurant will be a success!
Our waitress Jaina was very attentive.
Because we were sitting right next to the speakers, the music was a bit loud, making it hard to place our order.. but she immediately
Asked the DJ to turn it down a bit., & we had a pleasant evening.
My husband ordered chicken Tikka masala, my daughter Butter Chicken , & i had Dahl Makhani per her recommendation.
My daughter also had this beautiful pink lady cocktail.
The flavors were spot on!
So glad we had dinner here tonight!!!!
We might have to come back before our vacation is over.
This place was amazing - unbelievable flavors on chicken tikka masala & butter chicken, & even the naan bread was out of this world. Jaina was super helpful & friendly! Cocktails were also delicious. Highly recommended!
The food was phenomenal, we tried the butter chicken, tikka masala, Rara Chiken & the Lamb Rogan Josh. All dishes tasted fresh & full of spices.
