Overall, the restaurant is frequently lauded as a sophisticated yet accessible spot, perfect for special occasions or memorable nights out.
An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully prepared, but the wine pairing recommendations from our server truly elevated the meal - they were absolutely perfect!
The service was warm, knowledgeable, & made us feel so welcome. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in Montreal.
10/10 from start to finish! Chef Shewchuk has an awesome team & everything we got was delicious. We did the tasting menu & highly recommend it. The bar tender recommended us each amazing wine pairings by the glass to go along with what was coming & we left full & happy.
The host Jack & the staff took care of us & we thoroughly enjoyed our date night out. Kudos to everyone at Limbo! Will be back for sure.
I was overly ambitious & ordered the chef's menu as a solo diner. All the food I had were great (except for the tomatoes but more because I don't really enjoy tomatoes).
Their wine list is mostly natural wine so order cocktails if you are not a big fan of natural wine!

We ordered 6 dishes to share. We started off nicely. The first 4 dishes arrived in a timely manner for a nicely paced meal. The last 2'hot dishes' arrived at 20 to 25 min intervals. What was a nice enjoyable evening, turned into a disappointing evening. It goes without saying, after the long wait for the first hot dish, all we wanted to do was get out of there. We had 2 glasses of wine each. We were not there to drink. We were there to enjoy the cuisine. When we it became obvious that we were not interested in more wine, the server looked after those beside us but would not even look at us. A difficult feat since we were seated at the bar. We got a'sorry for the delay' on the last dish, that was it. So maybe it was a bad night I don't know. Food was great once it arrived. Also it gets loud in there. Maybe it was our location. I would have expected at least the last dish complementary. That was our experience. Not interested in returning. We expected more. I really hope this was a one off for us as the cuisine was wonderful.
I'm not sure I'm being very objective probably not
I'm not the type to write internet restaurant reviews, but when a place is run by people who work with heart, you take five minutes & say it sincerely, thank you guys
I'm lucky to count the chef among my closest friends, & I spent several weeks there, surrounded by the smells, the laughter, the late nights.
& ever since, I've missed that place.
Places like limbo, where people still cook out of respect for the craft, where every plate tells something true, they're getting rare, too rare
That's why it matters to back those who care about substance, not just style.
This year, I had one of the best dinners of my life at Limbo.
Not just for the food, but for the energy, the team, the wine, the honesty, the warmth.
You want something real? Book a table.
Cool can't be bought.
Neither can hard work.
It's a tough, often thankless industry, & you give it back its dignity.
If you care about food that actually means something, go & enjoy the moment
I have dined at Limbo three times now & have tried a wide variety of dishes & wines. Each time I have visited, my experience has been better & better. The food is amazing, delicious sauces, local ingredients, knowledgeable & attentive staff & great ambiance. If there is one must try spot in Montreal, it's Limbo!
