Review Summary

Reviewers describe a warm and welcoming experience at L'Hibiscus, taking diners on a flavorful journey to Reunion with authentic, homemade dishes and attentive preparation. Guests praise the authenticity of Reunion Island cuisine, noting standout items such as green papaya, chicken a la Hibiscus with the chef's special sauce, and pork in garlic sauce, all served with rice, beans and cabbage. The service is impeccable and friendly, with the chef and staff greeting guests warmly and sharing details of the dishes. The atmosphere is convivial and charming, enhanced by eclectic antique decor that gives a sense of place and festivity. Value is highlighted, with reasonable prices and generous portions, and the option to bring your own bottle is mentioned by several. A note about restroom cleanliness appears in one review, but does not overshadow the overall impression of quality and hospitality. Overall, L'Hibiscus is portrayed as a standout, homemade, lovingly prepared restaurant that transports diners and invites return visits.

We had an absolutely amazing dinner at L'Hibiscus! The owners welcomed us with such warmth & hospitality, making us feel right at home. The Réunion Island cuisine, was full of incredible flavors. On recommendation, we tried the green papaya, the chicken à la Hibiscus with the chef's special sauce, & the pork in garlic sauce - all served with rice, beans, & cabbage. Every dish had its own unique taste, clearly prepared with great care & attention. This is truly one of our favorite restaurants!

My first time eating at a restaurant with influences from Reunion island with a French chef. The chef creation sauce with slow cooked octopus was very good & the vanilla duck sauce good but the duck itself was not as tender as octopus. The appetizer of samosa & dumpling was shown Indian influences but taste different & complex. Even the chef dessert creation was unique light & tasty. It is nice for this town to have opportunity to taste dishes from locations & taste profile as complex as this shows the influence of immigrants on our taste buds
