Where ramen and miso meets
Ever since Japan’s Edo period (1600 to 1867 AC), Miso has been known as a healthy and tasty
condiment and has been beloved for generations.
Miso is made with soybeans, rice (or barley in some cases) and salt by being fermented for a certain
period of time. It originated in China, spread to Japan in the 9th century and became known as Miso paste. In the long history of Japan, Miso has been a sufficient protein source, to enhance rice, soup or as a sauce over vegetable side dishes.
As a fermented food, miso is a great source of probiotics or beneficial bacteria, which increases the
health of your gut and enhances your immune system. Miso is also high in protein, in minerals like
manganese and zinc, and vitamin E, vitamin K, various B vitamins, and folic acid.

The 4 pieces of seaweed was not fresh enough, not crispy, & was already limp. That's it.View more
My spouse & I are vegetarian & we are always on the hunt for excellent vegetarian ramen. Ramen Misoya hits it out of the park. Every fan of vegetarian ramen should make sure to check out Ramen Misoya when in Montreal. I got the Tantan, my spouse got the silver with an egg. Both were outstanding. Excellent flavor, toppings, noodles, etc. 👌
You have to go down a flight of stairs to get in & we were a bit nervous with our stroller & 5-month old. But the staff was incredibly helpful & it was not a problem at all.
Pretty typical ramen place - not about the ambience, it's about the food.View more
Tasty broth & good texture of the noodles, but the cha-siu slice is thin & small, the egg was not perfect, & the price for these extra aren't worth it. Maybe best for vegetarian dishes. Took a while to receive the bowl as well, perhaps understaff.View more
I came during Ramen Ramen Fes. I'm glad that their Végétarien ramen are made with vegan products. Because some noodles may contain eggs. The Végétarien Tantan Miso Deluxe comes with 4 nori leaves & vegetable kakiage tempura. Mine had 3 extra slices of fried tofu. The broth is rich & creamy. Slightly spicy, very flavourful. I love that the ramen is hot but not to the point to burn your mouth. :DView more
Honestly best ramen I've ever had. Great portion sizes, great broth, great noodles, great toppings. It is a bit of a hole in the wall but holy moly, bar = raised.View more
Ordered the recommended dish Cha-Su with Gold Broth. Gold broth is supposed to be rich in flavour, but I personally found it was very overpowering with ginger flavour. Ordered the miso egg which was great, but the kimchi was also overpowering with ginger flavour. Noodles were ok. Not sure why there were potatoes (maybe a MTL thing) & sadly not a green onion in sight. Cha su was very delicious though. Not a fan of bean sprouts in my ramen. Great service & nice atmosphere.View more
My fave place in down for ramen. The broth was amazing super flavorful, not salty, the noodles had a nice bite to them. They put so much garnish you won't live hungry.
I had the miso curry noodle🤤🤤🥵View more
Good ramen shop! Had the Tonkutsu Black & the Silver Shiro Special. The silver broth was as advertised with a lighter taste. They were tasty, but not outstanding bowls of ramen. The noodles had a good chew & it was a hearty dinner for the price. Our server was helpful!View more
I was told by a friend that Misoya was the best ramen shop in Montreal...but all I found was disappointment.
First of all, I want to get it's best positive out of the way immediately. The service was great, the lady was courteous, attentive & very friendly.
Now that's out of the way the not so good points... the ramen.. noodles were acceptable, the toppings were mediocre at best..but the broth was too salty...I had the Silver Spicy Shoyu, while my girlfriend had the Golden Tokatsu. Both broths were very salty... but she had over five full cups of water throughout the dinner..
Also a huge negative here was the music blaring from the speakers..also for a Japanese restaurant, the musical playlist was very weird...from anime theme songs, to j-pop, to j-grunge, to metal..All blaring non stop...made it a bit too hard to get a conversation going. Also the decor was very...bland...& un-japanesque...
So yeah...is Misoya the BEST Ramen restaurant our city has to offer?
My personal opinion it would be no, but maybe you'd like it?
Try it out for yourself.View more
The ramen is amazing, the noodles & booth are just perfect.
