Located in Old Montreal since 2005, Porto Mar is the ideal spot for romantic dinners, business meetings, casual encounters, birthdays and other special events. Our restaurant is located in a beautiful historic building with a unique old world charm.

We are a three-generation family of 7 who dined here on New Years Eve. We had an awesome experience. The restaurant served a pre-fixed menu & obviously planned to serve us from 8:00-midnight. They provided noisemakers & hats, wonderful food & an inviting atmosphere. The table was set against a lovely window in a semi-private space, making it easy for my hard-of-hearing father to hear. Our server, Alex, was attentive & professional with just the right hint of warmth. We creating a lasting memory of sharing a special NYE together with the help of the staff at Porto Mar. Thank you for your care for us!

Bon restaurant portugais en plein coeur du vieux Montréal.
Personnel très sympa & lieu joliment décoré.
Les tarifs sont dans la norme des restaurants pour ce secteur & la nourriture est bonne. Bien que pas encore au niveau de la vraie cuisine portugaise (notamment niveau cuisson), étant originaire du Portugal.

This was an amazing experience. Being the daughter of parents born in the Azores this was really authentic. Chef Luis visited our table & was an absolute pleasure. This is definitely a must.

Absolutely in love with the omniance of this restaurant. Beautiful location! Incredible wait staff. & the food is delicious. Simple recipes with quality ingredients. The escargot was probably one of my favorite things from tonight's meal.

The food was nothing special. Huge servings but left green beans in my fridge that had more flavour & anyone can poach a salmon & add fresh dill. We had the crème caramel for dessert & mine came with a piece cracked off. My crème caramel is way better! Best thing was the coffee-Nespresso ! Hide the machine !

This was, by far, one of the best & authentic Portuguese meals I've had in Canada in years! Our server, Selena, was gracious & amazing, & Chef Luis, the owner, prepared a fabulous meal & made us feel so welcome! If you are missing Portugal or want to experience an authentic meal, please try! We will definitely be back! fois muito saboroso!

Some of the best Portuguese food I ever had. The food & drinks are exceptional. It felt like I was eating at home. Our chef Luis went above & beyond. Selina was our server & she was incredible. If you ever come to Montreal & want good Portuguese food, Porto Mar should be on your list.

A truly memorable meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Great food, friendly service & unique cuisine. In contrast to other restaurants in the area, the noise level was low, making conversation easy against a background of pleasant Portuguese music.

Very good find - I've had cod croquettes, salmon with potatoes & grilled vegetables & caramel flan. Food was delicious! It was also a few mins away by foot from our hotel in Old Town which helped.
If I'm back in Montreal, I'll return!
