Located in Old Montreal since 2005, Porto Mar is the ideal spot for romantic dinners, business meetings, casual encounters, birthdays and other special events. Our restaurant is located in a beautiful historic building with a unique old world charm.

Our menu offers a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes as well as fresh fish, seafood, steak and a choice of grilled specialties. We also have many gluten free options. The extensive wine list has something for everyone with its large selection of Portuguese wines including many private imports at affordable prices.

The food was nothing special. Huge servings but left green beans in my fridge that had more flavour & anyone can poach a salmon & add fresh dill. We had the crème caramel for dessert & mine came with a piece cracked off. My crème caramel is way better! Best thing was the coffee-Nespresso ! Hide the machine !

Was our first time at this restaurant & we will definitely return. The food was delicious & so fresh. The waitress was very friendly & the atmosphere was relaxing. The music was nice background music & not the loud music so often seen lately at restaurants. They also had a good variety of Portuguese wines. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Attentive service & incredible & tasty food ! We tried a Portuguese soda pop juice passion fruit & orange & it was so sweet & good. Also we tried the mix grill for meats & it was amazing!!!! The steak was juicy. Also we had their fresh vegetable soup of the day & some salads. Good choice on our end & we found this spot accidentally

Excellent whiskey sours & other cocktails
The set menu is nice& gives you xtra dessert & coffee
Food was delicious & service v v quick
We were a party of 3 & ordered different food & drinks but it arrived quickly & was fresh & delicious

This place was wonderful from the waiter mike to the cook/owner luis alberto Thank you for supporting us & he is he best the service the taste, the service was the best all was the very best... This is the best restaurant in Montreal. It's a must! We came two times within the 5 days of our visit. The fish was fresh & the service was spectacular.

I have tried a variety of dishes: calamari, shrimps, & grilled sardines. The sardines weren't fresh enough unfortunately. Which is a risk to take & I was informed that they do not arrive frozen. Small fish is hard to store fresh & taste good only of served on the first 2-3 days after caught. So this one is on me. Calamari was a bit rubbery too. I do need to speak highly of the service though: polite, attentive, & friendly.

We had the most amazing meal! Such fresh fish & the spicy shrimp are amazing! Best deal in the Old Port for price & quality! The Cod & Swordfish were amazing!

Charming historic setting for fabulous seafood. We had a quiet peaceful table by the window. We had a nice mixed salad, fresh baked cod & a great bottle of red Portuguese wine.
Our server was attentive, kind & helpful. We shall return!!

Our favorite spot in all of Montreal. Food is highest quality & very fresh! Our monk fish arrived just before we did!
Provençal preparation was exquisite & the vegetables & lyonnaise potatoes were a nice accompaniment
The owners are warm & friendly & dedicated to their craft.
The quiet ambiance is a nice reprieve from the noisy US resturants back home in San Diego! Thank you Tony & Passos. We shall return to Montreal next yea
