Quick & pleasant service, & better BBQ than you'd think you'd get at an airport. Try the brisket.
We went to the Pork & Pickle restaurant located on the Canadian side of the airport in Montreal. This a great restaurant for an airport restaurant. I had the bahn mi pulled pork & my husband & daughter had the classic pulled pork, they were really good. The MADRÍ beer was exceptional. The servers were kind & welcoming. Me & my husband thought the pickles were also delicious. The atmosphere was very like a bar but was still kid-friendly. Overall a pretty awesome restaurant!
It was overpriced, as is kind of expected at an airport, but for a sit down restaurant I was hoping for a little better quality food.
I ordered the chicken rice bowl, & they forgot the avocado on top. We asked for some, & someone other than our server brought it for us-without any apologies-wearing a suit. Contrasted with our very friendly server, this felt off.
The dish still tasted good, though the thin piece of chicken should have been bigger (it was about ?-¼ of a chicken breast) especially for the price. We also noticed that the plating was a little messy.
Our service was generally very fast, especially as our server seemed to have four tables all come around the same time! That is not easy. The restaurant was mostly full when we were eating.
Hands down the worst brisket I've ever had. I'm assuming they didn't get the internal temp anywhere near 203 f (95 c), probably topped it out at 170 f (77 c) at most & did a faster cook. 1/3 of the brisket pieces I was basically fat & there was no visible smoke ring at all. My fault for ordering brisket at an airport, but it sounded when I read it on the menu. On the plus side, the beans & slaw were amazing & the service was pretty good!
Great food & exceptional service & the Airport location ! The waiter even made a special order drink that I asked for ! Thanks/ Merci/ Gracias
For an airport restaurant it's better than most. I had the brisket w coleslaw & salad. Half the brisket was dry but the other half was amazing.
The smoked brisket was good, a tiny bit on the salty side, but for airport food & portion it was decent. The host/manager was really nice; however the server was rude.
I had come to eat with a friend who already had a takeout container of food & before we were seated, I double checked with the host that it was okay for my friend to sit & eat with me in the restaurant. He said it was okay because I would be ordering. The server came up to kick us out when she saw my friend eating when I explained how the host had said it was fine for us to have outside food as i would be ordering, she took my order. Things took a turn when she was putting down my food & especially when she was taking away my plate. She snatched it away & didn't ask if I wanted anything else or if I was ready for the bill. She came back with the bill immediately which was fine as I was ready to leave but it was unreasonably rude. I could tell she did not like us because she treated the couple that was seated next to us super nicely, wished them to have a good flight etc. maybe it's because we looked younger or maybe it's because we aren't Caucasian 🤷🏻?♀?
Atmosphere was nice because it was fairly empty.
major shout-out to George for being such a wonderful server! he made our early morning at the airport very enjoyable :-)
Hussam was fantastic. He demonstrated a great work ethic, was friendly, efficient, & apologetic when things didn't go to plan with his customers - which was beyond his control. Give some love to Hussam for being a great worker.
We had the Cajun rub wings, which were good, & the BBQ drippings mac & cheese, which was light on the cheese. Overall, a decent spot to stop when detained in terminal A at Montreal airport. Thanks, Hussam.
Had a couple hours to waste at the Montreal airport & decided to finally give this spot a try. The tables & spacing is good for the massive amount of space they have, & when I went there it wasn't that busy so did not have people close to my table. The server that attended to me was amazing! Made sure my beer was always full & my order was taken right away. They have a good selection of domestic & imported beers on tap. I personally love local craft beer which they had a couple of on tap. I ordered the smoked bacon chicken club with fries, & do they ever pile the fries. It came with ketchup & horseradish dip which was amazing with the crispy fries. The club was delicious with perfect amount of toppings & flavour. Price was typical for airport restaurant ($60 for food & 2 beers not including tip). Overall the Pork & Pickle restaurant was overdue for me to try & did not disappoint. Highly recommend!
It's airport food, so not expecting great, but this place wasn't bad. Limited options in the airport so it's nice seeing a place offer a decent variety. I enjoyed my meal, just wished the portion would have reflected the price.
Airport food is always the same: mediocre, criminally overpriced, & poorly served. I'm in awe at how starkly Pork Pickle contrasts against this expectation. Great food (as in I would go here if there was one back home), quick service, large portions, & fair pricing. The only thing I'm left wishing is that they had one of these in every airport in the world, so I don't have to feel like I'm being held at gunpoint to overpay for garbage anymore. There isn't a lot of dignity in air travel anymore, these folks buck that trend hard.
An utterly uninspired & dissapointing meal. The bar for a meal at an airport is very low, & the Pork & Pickle failed to reach it. If you are in the market for cold fries that are also overcooked somehow, & a vegetarian "Bahn Mi" that had sweet potato fries as the "protein", then this place will scratch that itch for you. I regret not eating at the McDonald's instead.
The staff were quite cold. The person who sat us hardly said anything & didn't smile. She just told us to follow her. Then our waitress also didn't even say hi or smile at all. She just stood there waiting for us to tell her what we wanted to drink. My husband told her we had a sleeping baby just to try & make the air lighter & she replied with, "do you want me to not talk?". The food was ok. My sandwich didn't have any sauce (I don't remember if it was supposed to). My husband enjoyed his food though. The food was a bit pricey but that's somewhat expected with airport food.
Breakfast poutine was good. Lots of sauce not much brisket the egg was nice. It could use some lemon in the sauce that I am sure came in powder form. Airport food. Expensive & bland.
It's terrible, the food is bad & the service is slow. This place would never survive outside of the captive market of airport.
The food was okay (other than the fact that the glasses smelled like dish soap), but the service was very bad. It took forever to get my food & even longer to get my check. Management needs to remember that this is an airport restaurant- people aren't here to linger. Have some respect for your customers' time!
Decent spot for airport food. Staff was friendly & helpful. I recommend the smoke show brisket meltdown.
Had a plate of poutine & a coke during my layover. My photo does it no justice, but it *was* delicious. Bit pricey, but, it's an airport restaurant, so nothing unexpected there. But was nice to have some good poutine at the source, here in Quebec 😁
