I was visiting from out of town & had such a good time that I was very buzzed by the time I got home. However I left Montréal wondering how anyone could ever understand the person who founded the city!
I came here for drinks Sunday night with a few friends & we were pretty disappointed. The beers we ordered were 25% foam. My friend mentionned the foam to the waitress & she just removed the foam & returned it without topping off the pint. I looked around at other tables & they also had an excessive amount of foam. For a $13 pint (including tip) I'd expect the glass to at least be properly filled.
Had a few pre-dinner drinks here & what a great place for that! I've never found anywhere in North America serving Kölsch like they do in Cologne: every time you empty your glass another one appears!
The atmosphere & service were spectacular. However, the food was not balanced in its flavours or textures. The Caesar salad was overdressed, kimchi was sour not spicy & the devilled eggs tasted of mayonnaise not eggs. Everything for my taste lacked salt & pepper but there was none on the table. I will give them that the sourdough was delicious. Excellent wine selection. I would come back for drinks but not dinner. I left disappointed, I love fermented food but I did not love this restaurant…
Stopped in for drinks only. Got our 1st order in quickly but both my wife & I finished our drinks & had to flag down the waitress to get new drinks. Drinks were good but expensive. Not sure if they were short staffed on servers that night but we were definitely not attended to as we should have been. Would try again if in town again though.
Great drinks & calm atmosphere with cute leafy plants around. Service was 10/10 & we got so many good recs. I really liked the number one option for the beer menu!
Les étoiles parlent d'elles mêmes. Autant la bouffe que les drinks étaient médiocres, le service était correct. Belle ambiance par contre, bonne musique & la place est jolie
One of my favourite spot downtown. They have great kolsch. I'm not crazy about their food but definitely a good spot for drinks. In the summer they have a rooftop terrace.
Really cool multiple-floor rooftop bar (definitely go to the rooftop) in the middle of Montréal's organic Chinatown named after mathematician Henri Poincaré. Fun mathematical designs & creative drinks for anyone looking to enjoy a night out drinking in the fresh air. I had a mezcal that was wonderfully spiced & my partner had a sweet cocktail that was also delicious. Wish they had more references to the Poincaré Conjecture being resolved 🙈
Rude staff. Two drinks totaling over $40. Actually soured my evening by stopping by here after live music in the area. Wish I walked by it & went to another place. Just as a side note. I have a lot of reviews on maps. I really don't leave negative reviews. This place deserves it. Just go anywhere else.
Great spot for a drink & a bite, especially if the weather is terrasse friendly.
Been here twice now & have hated it twice. The rooftop bar is lovely, but the cocktails are some of the worst I've ever tasted. Just come out after drinking one that tasted like urinal balls seasoned with off-brand mouthwash. Shouldn't have forced it down, but the service was slow & it started raining, so we had to leave anyway as we were getting soaked. Not had the food, but freaking A are their cocktails bad.
Went for drinks on the rooftop. Initially we were told it was closed. I thought they just stopped seating people there. We sat downstairs inside waiting about 5 minutes then told a spot opened at the bar. The service was kind of slow but it was ok. Rooftop was nice.
Admittedly, we didn't try the food, we just went to get a few drinks, but the cocktails that we took were really not to our liking, & the place was so hot, it was bearly bearable.
Nice rooftop & good drinks. Little minor note for the food menu. I would love to see fuller meals.
Spent the afternoon on the terrace. Good food, & good drinks. Servers were also good, albeit with a bit of a wait between check-ins with our table, but mostly cuz the spot was full with people enjoying the good vibes. Will be back.
I had exactly the same experience as another reviewer from a few weeks ago. My friend & I stood awkwardly for the hostess to spot us while it was quiet inside with barely any customers. We didn't eat, but the drinks were mediocre & way overpriced. We were asked to pay immediately before we even got out drinks, like why do I need to tip before I even get the service & why does 18% show as the minimum on the machine? Bloody Caesar was too salty & spicy for no reason. My friend waited a much longer time just for a draft beer. When we were finally told there was room on the rooftop, we had to basically sit right next to another group & share their table, which seems to be a normal thing at that place but still felt awkward, & there really isn't much of a view to justify going up there anyway. I'm guessing the food must be this business' strong point since most people are leaving enthusiastic reviews based on that, but from what we've seen this place is outrageously overrated & you can do a lot better in the area.
