This is why I have updated my review to a positive. We came today to order 2 pizzas for take out. They made a mistake by forgetting the cheese (lol) we said no problem, they said they'll re make it & offered us 2 pizzas on the house. They gave us 1 extra & the worker or manager (blonde kid) said oh we'll just give you 1 & took a nasty attitude with me saying what 1 free pizza is not good enough? I said it's not about the free pizza from you're screw up it's the principal of your words. Honestly there are so many options aside from this place & if I had workers that speak & lie to customers so easily I would look for replacements. To the owner you should know what's goes on in your restaurant when your not there. Shame & not okay. Wow so just got home & the pizza is not even cooked has raw dough. Not even edible.
Ordered the Margherita, & the tomato sauce, basil, & cheese worked together nicely. The menu forgot to mention that black charbroiled dough would be hidden on the underside.
Always like neapolitan pizza. Gives me something flavorful & distinct, unlike the mundane mozzarella & marinara loaded type. Had the antipasti, charlevoix, 4(5) cheese & smoked meat (throwing in some Montreal taste). All great. Very nicely charred chewy crust. Very good espresso too.
We had a 7:30 reservation & when we arrived it was evident that the air conditioning was broken, as it was very hot in the entry & they had fans placed around the restaurant. The hostess didn't mention address this in any way but seated us in front of a fan so the temperature was comfortable during our meal. We had cocktails (Lemoncello spritz & an Old Fashioned) & they were very good. My wife is gluten free & they offer a gluten free rice crust, so she ordered the Prosciutto & Fig on GF crust, I had the Four Cheese. The pizzas came out quickly & the crust on both pizzas were excellent. Usually gluten free crusts are thin & hard/crispy but this was very fluffy & authentic to a true Italian pizza crust - Amazing! We were a little surprised that the pizzas came did not have any'base layer' of cheese or white sauce; just the crust, goat cheese crumbles spread out, arugula, prosciutto, & fig jam sprinkled across it. The effect was that it was a little dry…basically a salad laid on a crust, but overall still good & flavorful. My four cheese pizza was excellent & very flavorful.
The service was not very attentive, so it was hard to get their attention to ask for anything, despite being one of only about 3 customers.
Overall, I would go back for the food, but would have had a better experience if the AC had been working & the staff had been a bit more attentive.
We had an amazing dining experience at Pizzéria NO.900 - Vieux-Montréal! The atmosphere is warm & inviting, striking the perfect balance between rustic charm & modern elegance.
One of the highlights for us was the arancini cheese & spinach balls-my girlfriend's favorite! Crispy on the outside, rich & flavorful on the inside, they were absolutely delicious. We also loved their gluten-free pizza, which had an incredible crust that didn't compromise on taste or texture. Plus, the variety of fresh veggies & toppings made it easy to customize our meal just the way we like it.
If you're looking for authentic, high-quality pizza with fantastic gluten-free & vegetarian options, this place is a must-visit in Old Montreal. Highly recommend!
The restaurant is in a great spot. The vibe was amazing, but unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the pizza we ordered. It was burnt & not what I had hoped for. I could tell the ingredients were fresh, & the sauce-to-cheese ratio was decent. I'm not sure if I'll give it another shot, though.
Sorry !
Review for Calzone Ricotta & Pizza Bianca at Pizzeria No.900 Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5) Ambiance Walking into Pizzeria No.900, you're immediately greeted by a warm, rustic atmosphere that perfectly complements the hearty Italian cuisine. The decor, with its charming mix of wood & brick, sets a cozy tone ideal for enjoying a relaxed meal with family or friends. The soft lighting & friendly staff make you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. Calzone Ricotta The Calzone Ricotta is a standout dish that truly showcases the restaurant's dedication to quality & flavor. The crust is perfectly golden & crisp on the outside, yet soft & chewy on the inside-a testament to their skilled baking. Inside, the ricotta cheese is rich & creamy, blending beautifully with the other fillings, which include a mix of fresh spinach, savory mozzarella, & a hint of garlic. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures & flavors that leave you craving more. The portion size is generous, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying meal. Pizza Bianca The Pizza Bianca is another highlight of the menu. This white pizza, free from the usual tomato sauce, allows the toppings to shine through. The base is a perfect balance of crispness & chewiness, providing a sturdy foundation for the toppings. The mix of mozzarella & ricotta cheese creates a wonderfully creamy texture, while the addition of garlic & olive oil gives it a fragrant & slightly tangy flavor. The sprinkle of fresh arugula on top adds a peppery bite that contrasts nicely with the richness of the cheese. It's a sophisticated yet comforting dish that showcases the restaurant's ability to elevate simple ingredients into something extraordinary. Service The service at Pizzeria No.900 is exceptional. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, & always ready with a recommendation or a smile. Despite being busy, the wait times were reasonable, & the food arrived hot & fresh. Overall Experience Overall, Pizzeria No.900 delivers a delightful dining experience. The Calzone Ricotta & Pizza Bianca are both must-try dishes that highlight the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients & traditional cooking methods. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the portion sizes & the quality of the food justify the cost. Whether you're a pizza aficionado or just looking for a great place to enjoy a meal, [Restaurant Name] is well worth a visit. Pros: Delicious & well-crafted dishes Cozy & inviting ambiance Attentive & friendly service Cons: Slightly higher prices on a small size pizza Final Verdict: A near-perfect spot for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine with a touch of elegance. Definitely a place to return to for more culinary delights.
Travelling alone & it was a short walk from the hotel. Griffintown is a Nice neighbourhood & rather I support the downtown restaurants I thought I would stay in the hood. A drink, salad & pizza. I sat at the bar & the staff were very nice & relaxed, great music playlist. The Basil sour was tasty & refreshing, a warm late September evening, it was perfect. The lemon arugula salad was very tasty but maybe a little over dressed, there was a lot of leftover dressing at the bottom of the bowl. The Margherita Antica was excellent. I was in Italy recently, in Naples & the region. I ate a lot of pizza & this pizza was better than many I had. Tasty tomato sauce, excellent cheese & the dough was just the right amount chewy. If I lived in the area I would be there often. After 9pm there is a $18 salad & pizza deal. Excellent deal. Good food, great playlist I hope to return.
Great atmosphere. Liked the chili oil served on the side with the pizza. Crust was great & flavours were overall good.
Tiramisu was unfortunately frozen & the pizza we ordered came with cold mozzarella di buffala so it would have been nice if the cheese was put in at least at room temperature.
