Piazza Romana Pointe-Claire Restaurant: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
ItalianPizzaPastaSeafood/FishSaladsMusselsGreat selection of wines
Opened in 1971 by Giuseppe Lenti, Piazza Romana was originally a very small restaurant. It had seating for only 32 people and was run by Giuseppe Lenti, who was later joined by his brother-in-law, Sestino Odari. In 1988 Sestino's wife, Maria, took over the reins. In less than five years, Piazza Romana has the best restaurant for fine Italian cuisine. In fact, The Gazette's Helen Rochester ranked it among the top 20 restaurants. While Piazza Romana is no longer a little country restaurant, the Odoardi family continues to offer the warm ambiance so typical of the traditional Italian manner.

Review Summary

Reviews describe Piazza Romana as a cozy, homey Italian spot in Pointe Claire Village with a beautiful terrace and twinkling village lights visible from the windows. The menu showcases pizza, pastas, gnocchi and a seafood risotto, with many noting the dishes are delicious, fresh and generously portioned, and the pizzas often praised as reliable favorites. The atmosphere and staff are frequently highlighted, making it a good choice for family dinners or evenings with friends, though service can be uneven during peak times and some visits include missing items or slower attention. Price is a consideration, with some dishes described as pricey for the portion size or compared with value, and a few reviews point to a limited wine selection. Overall, Piazza Romana is seen as a strong option for classic Italian cooking in a central location with easy parking, a pleasant setting and a vibe that invites return visits for both casual nights and anniversaries.

The food was good, but lack the attention to their customers. Missing items. Lastly, the waiter (Corey S) wanted more tip, the norm is either 15-20%. We gave 18%, was expecting more. Made us feel cheap at 18%. Not cool!

Food lacking taste but ok. They advertise that cash tips are appreciated. We left 15 % cash tip & server was upset & somehow rude ! Seems it wasn't enough for him .

Food was excellent problem was our server. He brought the bill & I proceeded to leave a 30%tip in cash on the table in plain sight. I paid the bill with a credit card & put no tip on the card.(again the 30% was sitting on the table in cash). The waiter proceeded to tell me how the bill amount & the credit card receipt were for the same amount & that tip isn't included in the price... I pointed to the $50 tip sitting on the table at which time he backtracked with some stupid excuse about not being sure if I had left the 50$ there by accident. Very embarrassing & very low class waiter. Too bad. Been going to piazza romana for over 20 years & usually food & service is very good.

Disasterous! Very slow service. The wine list did not have vintatges listed & we finally got the fourth wine we chose. The Vongole had some kind of minced/frozen clams instead of whole, fresh ones. The rissoto was tasteless. When we complained to the "manafer" he said that the customer was too "difficult to please". When we stated that we would not leave a tip, he gave us a long sob story about he had to pay his staff.

This restaurant is Pretentious , overpriced & not a good visit
