Piazza Romana Pointe-Claire Restaurant: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
ItalianPizzaPastaSeafood/FishSaladsMusselsGreat selection of wines
Opened in 1971 by Giuseppe Lenti, Piazza Romana was originally a very small restaurant. It had seating for only 32 people and was run by Giuseppe Lenti, who was later joined by his brother-in-law, Sestino Odari. In 1988 Sestino's wife, Maria, took over the reins. In less than five years, Piazza Romana has the best restaurant for fine Italian cuisine. In fact, The Gazette's Helen Rochester ranked it among the top 20 restaurants. While Piazza Romana is no longer a little country restaurant, the Odoardi family continues to offer the warm ambiance so typical of the traditional Italian manner.

Review Summary

Piazza Romana is described as a cozy, homey Italian spot in Pointe-Claire with warm, attentive staff and a welcoming atmosphere that makes family gatherings feel special. The private room and the terrace with village views are frequently mentioned as positives, and the service is often praised for being friendly and efficient. The food receives strong praise for pizza, calamari, gnocchi, and various pastas, with some reviewers noting excellent flavors and generous portions, while others say the minestrone is bland and a few dishes can feel overpriced or are not available when busy. Overall, many reviewers would return for the dining experience, highlighting the comfortable vibe, good value for some items, and the suitability for celebrations, though a few visits experience inconsistency in service or menu availability. The location also offers convenient parking and a central setting that adds to the appeal, making Piazza Romana a frequent choice for a casual, family friendly Italian meal.

We had such a lovely cozy evening at Piazza Romana.

The vibe of the restaurant is homey & warm. There's nothing like seeing the twinkling lights of pointe claire village from the windows. The pizza & calamari were delicious.

Our server was attentive & friendly.

Can't wait to go back for another family meal!

If you're looking for classic Italian dishes, this is the place to eat in the West Island. All the dishes we tried were simple, yet delicious. They are all made with fresh, quality ingredients & the portions are quite generous. Located in the charming Pointe-Claire Village, the restaurant has a cozy vibe & the staff are very welcoming. It's a great place for a family dinner or dinner with friends. It's also a good place to pop into on a weeknight after spending time shopping in the area.

Piazza Romana is the most welcoming home style true Italian food & service & the restaurant is run by the most lovely family. Lovely ambiance, happy & long standing servers who take their craft seriously.. & the food.. what can I say at least as good as Nonna's!

I have been a customer for 25 years & will continue to be for at least another 25!
Keep up the great work.

I am shocked to see the rate for this restaurant as it doesn't justify the reality. Unfortunately people who like this restaurant didnt come to review it.

I am taking the time to do so. I used to go to this restaurant about 20 years ago when I was more frequently in the west island. Now that I am back in the west, I plan to go often.

We came to celebrate my husband & my birthday as well as mother's day as we were away for vacation. It was our first time at the restaurant with our 7 month old baby & the staff was great, we got a high chair right away. When I needed to heat up the milk bottle i asked for hot water & without hesitation i got it with a big metal glass which help heat it quicker. When we left the restaurant, the waiter opened door for my husband as we had gifts in his hands soon after that i walked toward the exit door carrying my child & right away opened the door for me. These a little things that makes SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!

As for the FOOD!!! WOW I had forgotten how good it was, each family member took a different plate & EVERYONE loved their dish!! That's rare, there's always someone not satisfied.

Give it a try & you'll be satisfied!

Bonus point for having a parking!

Ate there this evening with my family. The food was good however the staff are by far the rudest I have ever encountered. The manager took our tables order & instead of punching in a my fathers salmon, he punched in veal. When the meals came & the mistake was realized it took 15 minutes for them to make the salmon. By the time his food came out everyone had finished eating & we still had received no apology. At the end we asked to speak to the manager however he was too busy to speak with us, which is strange when there are only 5 tables in the restaurant. We saw the manager smoking outside afterwards while he was supposed to be so busy. On top of it the waiter was extremely rude. We definitely won't be going back there.
