Piazza Romana Pointe-Claire: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
ItalianPizzaPastaSeafood/FishSaladsMusselsGreat selection of wines
Opened in 1971 by Giuseppe Lenti, Piazza Romana was originally a very small restaurant. It had seating for only 32 people and was run by Giuseppe Lenti, who was later joined by his brother-in-law, Sestino Odari. In 1988 Sestino's wife, Maria, took over the reins. In less than five years, Piazza Romana has the best restaurant for fine Italian cuisine. In fact, The Gazette's Helen Rochester ranked it among the top 20 restaurants. While Piazza Romana is no longer a little country restaurant, the Odoardi family continues to offer the warm ambiance so typical of the traditional Italian manner.

Review Summary

Reviews of Piazza Romana present a generally warm and inviting Italian dining experience with many noting delicious pizzas, fresh pasta and friendly service, especially in the evenings with a homey atmosphere and twinkling lights; however, responses are mixed on value for money, with several diners finding prices high for what is offered or experiencing inconsistent portions, some dishes perceived as simple or bland, and a few items unavailable or service that was not always attentive. Some gatherings were described as memorable and well organized with great service and a comfortable private space, while other visits featured slower service, brusque staff, or less satisfying courses like a lackluster minestrone; despite these mixed notes, the restaurant remains a frequently recommended option for those who enjoy Italian cuisine and a pleasant setting, with plans to return for family meals and celebrations.

DO NOT COME HERE IF U CARE ABOUT GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH
What is up with Italian & Greek restaurants these days? They keep thinking they can just give us some stale bread & unflavoured tomato sauce & price it at 40$. Not taking any of this crap.

The portions are too small considering each plate is 30-50$. When I first took a bite of my linguine primavera I could imagine the cooking process behind it: boil pasta, dump a can of grocery store tomato sauce, sauté some veg & call it a day. I see it being served in a small diner or pop up at a festival, pricing for 10$…. NOT 28$ in a fancy Italian restaurant !! The lemon chicken was fine, pretty basic, accompanied by boiled (or should I say steamed?) vegetables. I took a bite from the chicken & I got Deja vu & then I remembered where I had eaten a similar dish: at my elementary school cafeteria. Not to mention there might have been a little mishap because oops- the deep fried potato was cold- not room temp, but rather FRIDGE cold (they forgot to pop it in the microwave i guess?)

If you are though forced by your own will to dine here I would suggest the shrimp risotto if you're down to pay 38$ for it.

Yeah sure it's fine if you're invited for free supper here- you won't get food poisoning. But if you have to get a dollar out your own wallet: just know you will miss that dollar where you're back home still feeling a bit hungry.

Lovely Italian restaurant with excellent service. However, I was disappointed with the minestrone soup. Instead of the traditional hearty soup containing vegetables, beans, pasta, unfortunately it was a rather bland tomato broth with some cabbage. I didn't want to complain though, because everything else was wonderful.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Piazza Romana. Just skip the soup.

Every thing is good, pizza, pasta & wine were good. Just you'll be too close to your next table & you can kind of listen to their conversation.
