Piazza Romana Pointe-Claire Restaurant: Menu, Reviews & Reserve (2026)
ItalianPizzaPastaSeafood/FishSaladsMusselsGreat selection of wines
Opened in 1971 by Giuseppe Lenti, Piazza Romana was originally a very small restaurant. It had seating for only 32 people and was run by Giuseppe Lenti, who was later joined by his brother-in-law, Sestino Odari. In 1988 Sestino's wife, Maria, took over the reins. In less than five years, Piazza Romana has the best restaurant for fine Italian cuisine. In fact, The Gazette's Helen Rochester ranked it among the top 20 restaurants. While Piazza Romana is no longer a little country restaurant, the Odoardi family continues to offer the warm ambiance so typical of the traditional Italian manner.

Review Summary

Piazza Romana is described as a cozy, homey Italian spot in Pointe-Claire with warm, attentive staff and a welcoming atmosphere that makes family gatherings feel special. The private room and the terrace with village views are frequently mentioned as positives, and the service is often praised for being friendly and efficient. The food receives strong praise for pizza, calamari, gnocchi, and various pastas, with some reviewers noting excellent flavors and generous portions, while others say the minestrone is bland and a few dishes can feel overpriced or are not available when busy. Overall, many reviewers would return for the dining experience, highlighting the comfortable vibe, good value for some items, and the suitability for celebrations, though a few visits experience inconsistency in service or menu availability. The location also offers convenient parking and a central setting that adds to the appeal, making Piazza Romana a frequent choice for a casual, family friendly Italian meal.

Lovely Italian restaurant with excellent service. However, I was disappointed with the minestrone soup. Instead of the traditional hearty soup containing vegetables, beans, pasta, unfortunately it was a rather bland tomato broth with some cabbage. I didn't want to complain though, because everything else was wonderful.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Piazza Romana. Just skip the soup.

Every thing is good, pizza, pasta & wine were good. Just you'll be too close to your next table & you can kind of listen to their conversation.

The food was good! But our server messed up in one of the pasta sauces, he never came to see if everything was okay, disnt ask if we wanted anything else to drink. It took for ever to get the bill. I loved the food, but wouldnt recommend this place
