Pho Bang New York is a bustling Chinatown staple where reviews consistently praise fresh, comforting pho with generous portions and affordable prices; the broth is often described as clear, aromatic, and well balanced, with beef cuts and noodles held to a high standard. The atmosphere is busy and casual, with fast service that keeps up with the crowds, though a few diners report rushed or brusque staff and a cash only policy with an on-site ATM. Many guests call it reliable and authentic Vietnamese fare, sometimes highlighting weekend specials and a strong emphasis on pho that makes it a go-to choice for repeat visits. Some notes warn that space can be tight and the decor simple, but overall the experience is solid, and the food consistently earns strong praise despite the occasional service hiccup.

One of the Best Ph? Experiences in Montreal Chinatown
Pho Bang New York never disappoints. I ordered the ph? ??c bi?t (large), & it was outstanding from the first sip to the last bite.
The broth is crystal clear, deeply aromatic, & perfectly balanced-rich without being heavy. The bowl was generously loaded with a variety of tender beef cuts, silky rice noodles, & topped with fresh onions, cilantro, & green onions. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, & prepared with care. The large size is truly satisfying & great value for the price.
Served piping hot with a fresh plate of basil & bean sprouts, the ph? arrived quickly despite the restaurant being busy. Service was efficient & professional, exactly what you want when you're craving real Vietnamese comfort food.
If you're in Montreal's Chinatown & want authentic, no-frills, high-quality ph?, this is the place. The ph? ??c bi?t l?n here is a must-order.
Delicious pho. In my opinion ,it's the best pho in montreal. Sometime the new workers forget some of the order ,but the experienced workers are amazing . Sadly ,its cash only but its cheap & delicious & has a atm 🏧

All gluten free rice noodles! The broth was alright, decent meat serving size. They only take debit, or cash (USD or CAD). Slight unfavorable exchange rate. For a place this popular I would expect them to set up a Credit card system.

I've been to Pho Bang New York a couple of times for lunch, & it's always a satisfying stop in Chinatown.
The pho comes out quickly, the broth is flavourful, & the portions are generous enough to keep you full for the rest of the afternoon. Service is efficient even when the restaurant is busy, & the menu has plenty of classic options to choose from. A reliable place for a warm, comforting bowl of pho in the heart of Montreal's Chinatown.
Definitely over hyped. The staff are nice though. Broth is very light & not much flavor. The place is packed & you're sitting really close to people you don't know.
This place is disgusting. Im not just talking about the food. When leaving i was disappointed so i didnt leave tip. THE WORKER HARASSED US for tips. Your food is disgusting & so is your worker.
I had a very bad experience here. The service is terrible, well I should say the Boss is terrible. I have had already dinner actually, but we love the Pho, so my son & me went to order one extra large pho for share. After the Pho come on table, I request another bowl so that we can share. Then the waiter (we know at last he is the boss) said that he did not like we share one bowl of Pho. He rejected to bring us another bowl. & furtherly, the restaurant doesn't accept the bank card, they accept only cash. The boss is susceptible to not pay the tax to government that we have paied. maybe I should report this .
1. Pho with bleach like smell.
2. When we ask waiter for some bowls for the kids, he rolled his eyes & said'3 bowls ? we don't have that many'. Attitude are rude & unhelpful. Gave us a very bad impression at the first meal upon arrival in Montreal.
staff chased us out the door yelling & demanding for tips. we had already tipped a good amount but they kept insisting on more. they told us that not everyone tips but here yes, & we replied with'tipping isnt obligated, just a standard'. staff got angry & started spewing some BS about chinese people & said'what customers dont tip has to come out of our own pockets!'. what does that even mean??
the customers sitting at the table right next to us also got berated for not leaving a big enough tip.
seriously, pay your waiters & do better. not s good atmosphere to be in.
