Pho Bang New York is a bustling Chinatown staple where reviews consistently praise fresh, comforting pho with generous portions and affordable prices; the broth is often described as clear, aromatic, and well balanced, with beef cuts and noodles held to a high standard. The atmosphere is busy and casual, with fast service that keeps up with the crowds, though a few diners report rushed or brusque staff and a cash only policy with an on-site ATM. Many guests call it reliable and authentic Vietnamese fare, sometimes highlighting weekend specials and a strong emphasis on pho that makes it a go-to choice for repeat visits. Some notes warn that space can be tight and the decor simple, but overall the experience is solid, and the food consistently earns strong praise despite the occasional service hiccup.
The fast food of PHO soups & grilled plates. Food is good & the prices also. The service is fast but not great after. Getting water is a hard ask apparently... the way some respond was insulting as 1 of them never answered back & brought water or anything useful... & yes he speaks English but didn't feel like answering maybe? Or had a bad day? Idk... but not great. Same guy always like that... young one. But the others are fine. So if ya don't care, you served fast & eat cheap with decent food. I do suggest this place.
Amazing as always noodles grilled chicken shrimp peanut . Very tasty nem . We love this place & always come back! Toujours les meilleurs. Des années après c est toujours bon

Best pho in the city! Good & fast service. Servers are kind, quick, & helpful. Their pho with grilled chicken is too good. Chicken is grilled to perfect, so flavorful & soft. Veggie spring rolls are also really good. I loved their grilled beef & chicken with rice & salad. The quality is always the same & they never miss! Highly recommend if you're looking best pho in the city.
It ain't what it used to be… the quality of the grilled porc was extremely disappointing today!! If you decide to eat here, ('cause it's still a Montreal institution) I suggest you go for the soup with the raw beef & the spring rolls.

So far, the best Vietnamese food I had in Montreal! Their noodle grilled chicken 🍲 soup is 👌 👍. Their grilled beef + chicken +rice is a MUST try 🤪. Give it a try 👌.
Prices are fairly well.
All in all: Quality 👍, price 👍.
This is my spot & will be in my monthly to go list!
Just keep in mind: no credit card, no debit, only Cash!
Was debating between this spot & a pub nearby. So glad we went with Pho Bang New York. Was super busy when we showed up & knew it was gonna be amazing right away. Got the grilled chicken & beef & it came in less than 15 minutes. Server was friendly & vibes were up. 10/10 recommend & would come back if i'm ever in MTL again
I am from NYC & love this restaurant. More importantly, my kids love this restaurant. This restaurant introduced my kids to Vietnamese food. We went two years in a row. I had #15 Grilled beef, my son #14 Beef & Chicken, my wife the Pho, daughter noodles & broth. All was good.
Food tasted great! My wife had the pho & I had the grilled pork & shrimp with rice. Servers were busy, not really approachable, but attention to small details.

Good Vietnamese restaurant located in chinatown. Food tastes amazing! We tried few dishes & really love it. The grilled beef on vermicelli & the spring rolls are really good. Feel like eating in Vietnam. The atmosphere is ok. The service is ok. Weve been there few times. But they only accept cash which u should be prepared. But if u dont there is an atm machine.
Besides the inconvenience of accepting only cash, this is one of the best pho. Out of all the pho restaurants, I came back to this place the most. The the broth & the beef are simply amazing. A hot bowl of delicious soup during winter is the best remedy against the Montreal cold. Recently I realised that no.33 vermicelle with grilled beef is exactly what I was looking for when its not cold enough for pho. The beef is deliciously grilled, you can taste the marinate running deep into the beef. Perfect for summer.
