Pho Bang New York is a bustling Chinatown staple where reviews consistently praise fresh, comforting pho with generous portions and affordable prices; the broth is often described as clear, aromatic, and well balanced, with beef cuts and noodles held to a high standard. The atmosphere is busy and casual, with fast service that keeps up with the crowds, though a few diners report rushed or brusque staff and a cash only policy with an on-site ATM. Many guests call it reliable and authentic Vietnamese fare, sometimes highlighting weekend specials and a strong emphasis on pho that makes it a go-to choice for repeat visits. Some notes warn that space can be tight and the decor simple, but overall the experience is solid, and the food consistently earns strong praise despite the occasional service hiccup.
Food is always amazing. Tried all the meats (beef, chicken, pork & shrimp) & loved all of them. The noodles are also very good. You don't come here for the atmosphere but for the amazing food. I have to admin that at least, they try to have a good atmosphere but this place is always full. Can't wait to come back!
They only accept cash, which they don't tell you until you go up to pay. Seriously, who doesn't take cards in 2024? Of course, they have their own no-name ATM right next to the register where you can take out said cash for a service fee of $2.69 (on top of what your own bank charges). The food was pretty good & the service was fast, but in the end I came away feeling like I'd been slightly scammed.

Excellent restaurant Viet-Namien dans le quartier chinois de Montréal. La soupe est la meilleure a mon avis. Le bouillon est riche & rempli de saveur. Les prix sont abordables. J'y vais souvent & je retournerai c'est sûr.
I used to come here often but my recent trip was somewhat disappointing. Food came out super fast which was great. However, I found the pho broth salty & my partner's rice was overcooked (mushy). The flavour of the lemongrass beef was amazing though & the imperial rolls were good too. We had to signal several times for water & cutlery & got a hand dismissing us at one point. If you're in the area & want good Vietnamese I would come here but do not go out of your way when there are so many other places around the city.

Summary is that it's OK. Service is frantic but polite enough. Tip: they wait for you to order a soft drink before they bring the complimentary tea & will give you tap water on request (depending on who takes your order that is). Our waiter actually said they don't give tap water when I asked him. Having then ordered unnecessary soft drinks I was then just a little perplexed when I saw a different waiter taking glasses of tap water to a table of six - still trying to work that one out. The food itself was ok, it is authentic enough & reasonably priced.
Great food, fast service & reasonable prices. I'll definitely come here again. I came for dinner during the evening rush & was seated within 5 minutes of arriving, despite the place being packed. The tea & rice were hot & the chicken I ordered was crispy.

Good average pho place, nothing spectacular, but decent. Typical chinatown service. I kinda like the hectic atmosphere, not for everyone but I lived in chinatown in hawaii for many years so it felt kinda homey. Cash only place so be prepared with a few queen elizabeths in your wallet.
