This is my first time trying Caribeene food in montreal, delicious, good portion, beautiful plate, interesting drink. So delicious, forgot to take a photo, definitely will come back.
Nous adorons vos plats, mais par pitié demandez à ceux qui sont à l'accueil ou en caisse d'être plus souriants & aimables. Ils sont d'une arrogance & d'un mépris sans nom. Nous avons eu l'impression de les déranger.
This might now be my favourite spot in Time-out market! I've tried a few spots there, but I often noticed that Paul Toussaint seemed to have less customers. But honestly, yesterday I wanted something new, & I thought I'd give it a shot. I got the rum oxtail & upgraded the rice to djon djon rice.
The meal was. So. Good. I normally don't *love* meat, but lord, did that dish make me change my mind. Afterwards, I wanted to try one of their desserts, but they only had rum baba available. I normally dislike rum babas & any alcoholic desserts but the food was so good curiosity got the better of me. Not only did I actually like the rum baba (which has never happened before), but it was one of the best cakes I've ever tried!
I don't know why people are complaining about the service, because the lady who took my orders both times was lovely.
I saw someone complain about the price in another review, but I honestly find the pricing to be very reasonable, especially considering the quality. For a meal + drink + dessert I payed about what I would for the same at any other medium-budget restaurant.
I love Time out market, but honestly this restaurant is so slept on! It makes no sense why it has like 1/3rd of the foot traffic as many of the other ones, because I've tried most of the others & this is way better.
I can't say enough good things about the cabrit dish. So flavorful with the spice level just right. I haven't had a good haitian meal in months & this was a breath of fresh air.
