The tamago sando (egg salad sandwich) looks better than it tastes. The concept of a scotch egg in a sandwich sounds cool but the execution was a bit underwhelming. It does not tasted bad but it's also quite forgettable. The mayo is def not what you typically get in a Japanese style sandwich, tasted quite bland & greasy. I think they still has potential, will prob go again to give the chicken & Katsu sando a try

The vibe is vibrant yet cozy, with plenty of natural light, lush plants, & a welcoming atmosphere perfect for working, hanging out, or enjoying a meal.
But let's talk food-this café truly shines with some of the best sandwiches in town. Whether it's their famous fried egg sandwich or the inventive pork chop sando, each bite bursts with flavor & creativity. The menu also features delicious Japanese-inspired dishes like ebi curry & katsu curry that are perfect for lunch or a casual dinner. Pair your meal with their expertly crafted coffee or a sublime matcha latte, & you're set for a fantastic experience.
The staff are friendly & knowledgeable, always ready to help you pick the perfect drink or sandwich. In the warmer months, their terraces offer a lovely spot to relax with a drink, & the occasional live DJ adds a fun, lively touch to the ambiance.

Montreal gem!! amazing comforting food & a cozy vibe with good music playing always. perfect study spot, to catch up with friends or even just for a quick bite
great food & cool vibes but definitely not a good place to get work done. it's located semi'underground' & has cool steel decor. the sandos are delicious & their matcha lattes are some of the best in the city! It does get quite loud in the cafe & the music is usually pretty loud too. plenty of seating but not enough outlets if you plan on doing work. Would recommend for going for lunch or hanging out!
The café has a cute & cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for studying or catching up with friends over coffee. The servers were friendly, & the overall vibe is welcoming. However, there are some notable downsides that take away from the experience. The café is not wheelchair-friendly, which is disappointing, & the stairs were slippery because of the snow, creating a potential safety hazard. Additionally, there are no electric outlets available near the tables, making it inconvenient for those who want to work for an extended period. The 2-hour Wi-Fi limit is particularly frustrating, as it feels unnecessary for paying customers who might want to stay longer to study or work while continuing to order. While the ambiance is nice, these issues make it less appealing for those seeking a more accommodating & convenient space.
The cafe gives out good vibes & energy & credit goes to the crew working there. The atmosphere is very lively & such a welcoming place where you can sit eat work & relax at the same time.
I'd suggest trying the karaage sando, but the tamago sando is quite overrated-it was pretty bland. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the matcha latte. The atmosphere was awesome, with R&B music adding a nice touch to the overall vibe.

The vibe & drinks are definitely great. I got the tamago sando with smoked salmon & unfortunately there were a few bones in the salmon. There are definitely a lot of better food options at the café but the tamago sando is a bit overhyped especially for the price.
A really pretty cafe tucked away with a super cool vibe inside. Evidently japanese inspired, i loved their hojicha white chocolate latte 🥹 & their food was super tasty! i honestly take curry over the sandwiches but they're both good ! a must visit in montreal
Came here around 11:30 AM on Friday September 20th. I have tried the Marusan restaurant located inside the Time Out Market at Eaton Centre & really enjoyed the classic Japanese curries. This location offers more variety & doubles a coffee/study shop. The location is easy to access however being downtown there is only paid street parking. The restaurant is sort of underground but has great sky lights, a small terrace & plenty of seating. There are large communal style tables in the middle & smaller tables for 2 on the sides. When we arrived though most spots were taken & filled with students studying or browsing on their laptops. This would not be ideal for families or larger groups. We got the pork katsu curry dish & a chicken sandwicch - both were amazing, very flavorful, decently priced & filling. If you are looking for comfort food, this is the perfect lunch spot. Food is fresh & appears made to order. Service was prompt, overall vibe & ambiance is really cool. This is definitely a unique spot.
