The service however is so low, we've been coming multiple times over the last year & there's always something wrong with the employees, rude, giving sooo much attitude or just not getting the orders right. They're not even trying to be nice, or appear nice, it's really disappointing compared to how good the food is. Will definitely come back to grab food for take out but no more staying & paying tips for this service.
My boyfriend & I absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is stylish & beautiful, the coffee & food are excellent, & both the staff & customers have great style. The service was great, & sometimes there's a DJ playing, which is a nice touch. I really enjoyed my experience here & will definitely return
super chill spot with great drinks & pastries. they offer a free coffee if you buy a bag of beans which is pretty sick.
Good food / coffee. Excessive noise for a "café". They have huge amp speakers & they blast aggressive music up to a limit of 80 dB. For reference the legal limit for workplace noise is 85 dB. Above that, protective gear must be used. When asked to slightly reduce the sound, they refuse & point to their dB meter, arguing that it's under the 80 threshold. I left with a headache.
Very loud music, impossible to study there. Food runs out in the middle of the day, they would only serve coffee then.
The café has a cute & cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for studying or catching up with friends over coffee. The servers were friendly, & the overall vibe is welcoming. However, there are some notable downsides that take away from the experience. The café is not wheelchair-friendly, which is disappointing, & the stairs were slippery because of the snow, creating a potential safety hazard. Additionally, there are no electric outlets available near the tables, making it inconvenient for those who want to work for an extended period. The 2-hour Wi-Fi limit is particularly frustrating, as it feels unnecessary for paying customers who might want to stay longer to study or work while continuing to order. While the ambiance is nice, these issues make it less appealing for those seeking a more accommodating & convenient space.
Absolutely warm & upbeat atmosphere. This basement cafe is not afraid to show what its about in terms of decor & music. If its cold & dreary outside, you will feel rejuvenated from the coffee made specially by a barista who knows what he's doing; & feel at home after getting a nice & hot katsu curry. Compliment the DJ in the back, they're making sure your experience goes above & beyond. Highly recommend.
Nice place for brunch. It was very crowded on the weekends. Luckily, the weather was nice outside & we stayed in the terrasse. They have one of the best coffee machines from Italy & the milk they use is whole fat milk. Perfect for a flat white & matcha latte. They know their stuffs. The bread of the sandwiches were a little dried. I guess it was not as fresh as I imagined it. Ordered the chicken & the eggs sandwiches. Delicious 🤤 wish they out more chicken though
Came here around 11:30 AM on Friday September 20th. I have tried the Marusan restaurant located inside the Time Out Market at Eaton Centre & really enjoyed the classic Japanese curries. This location offers more variety & doubles a coffee/study shop. The location is easy to access however being downtown there is only paid street parking. The restaurant is sort of underground but has great sky lights, a small terrace & plenty of seating. There are large communal style tables in the middle & smaller tables for 2 on the sides. When we arrived though most spots were taken & filled with students studying or browsing on their laptops. This would not be ideal for families or larger groups. We got the pork katsu curry dish & a chicken sandwicch - both were amazing, very flavorful, decently priced & filling. If you are looking for comfort food, this is the perfect lunch spot. Food is fresh & appears made to order. Service was prompt, overall vibe & ambiance is really cool. This is definitely a unique spot.
Lovely space & design, it looks like a modern cafeteria & lots of space to study. Though they do limit your time to just 2 hours on their wifi. Would recommend getting their sandwich & doing some work while drinking a coffee. Got the egg sando sandwich which was nice though some sauce would have really given it more flavor.
Quality coffee beans & great ambience. Food selection could be improved in variety.
I really enjoyed the sandwiches, coffee, & matcha here! The tamago sando was my favourite!
This cafe was super unique & amazing. The atmosphere & vibe were through the roof. I'm from Dallas, tx, & we have nice coffee shops, but nothing quite like this. We missed the place twice because from the outside, it looks almost like an abandoned building. They had a D.J. playing some really chill tunes. The iced coffees were fantastic. We didn't order food because we had just eaten, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. We really enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend 👌
A beautiful café with great drinks (coffee, yuzu lemonade). Sometimes an event space. The baked goods were disappointing, they could do better.
i went here for lunch on a monday at it was quite busy around 2 pm with mostly students working. it's the perfect spot to grab a coffee or lunch & work with tons of natural light in a welcoming environment. the coffee is top tier & the sandy's go hard. must go for anyone living in or visiting the city.
