Each dish was unlike what I had ever tasted before… I would without a doubt reorder the whelk, razor clams & tartare. The beets & cheese was not my favorite, that's just personal taste though. the desserts were amazing. We would come back just to have a tasting menu of desserts honestly. Decor is fun, restaurant got loud at times but that's the atmosphere. Loved it!
Would have been a 4-5 without the wine pairing
We took a glass before taking the menu with wine pairing. On first service, the waiter brings us the exact same bottle for the pairing - which is already weird that no alternative was offered
Then the following wines were not presented (the waiter had no clue about them, telling stuff like'its a vinho verde but not an usual one') & they were very cheap on the amount served: barely two sips you could see the waiter was carefully measuring... I know wine pairing are not full glasses but I never saw something that cheap
For 75$+tx & tips for each wine pairing, I feel this kind of ruined the fsncy experience that they acted that cheap
Conclusion: get their menu & a glass or a bottle. NO tasting
We opted for the tasting menu, & it was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, & genuinely helpful throughout the entire meal. The restaurant's design is playful & quirky, perfectly matching the creativity of the food pairings. The only minor downside is that the space can get quite loud, but overall it was a fantastic dining experience.
We chose the tasting menu & it was excellent! The staff is very friendly & helpful. Also, the restaurant design is fun & quirky, just like the food pairings. One small note - the restaurant was quite loud.
Bravo!!! Fantastic tasting menu & amazing hospitality.
Myself & 2 friends chose Montreal Plaza as one of restaurant chosen.
Overall a fun atmosphere & I loved the quirkiness & most of all watching people around us .... enjoying themselves.
This came highly recommended from work colleagues.
A bit overhyped in my opinion.
We got the tasting menu & added the Bourgot Miso.
Food had interesting flavor combinations & very experimental but not memorable & not something we would return for, except for the Bourgot Miso (but seriously only 2 pieces of bread???)
We had good service initially but there was a lull of about 30-40 minutes between services. Being first time clients here, our waitress didn't come back to the table even once to see how we were liking the food.
It was very loud & hard to talk, but very decorated, very homey & quirky. Couldn't hear my partner talk because of the music.
For the amount you pay here, there are better options out there.
The dishes were all super creative & beautiful. The atmosphere was great!
But as a person whose not a big fan of seafood, & all the tasting menu was seafood, I was a bit disappointed.
Ive been there 3 times now. Love love this restaurant!! Latest update December 2024: I was but disappointed with my overall experience. There wasn't any meal in particular that i was in awe with & that id eat again. For a dinner of 400$ ( tasting menu+ 2 cocktails+
Incredible evening. Went for dinner & got the tasting menu. Loved our experience! The place is beautifully decorated, warm & inviting. The fun touches also make it so the place doesn't feel snobby even though it's exceptional in so many ways. The staff were all friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. We had: 1. The asparagus mousse - excellent 2. Mackerel & trout nigiri on a potato & tuna salad. - good 3. For the third course we each had something different because of a dietary restriction. I had the foie gras with strawberry & rubarb. My husband the smoked tomato soup with bluefin. - Both excellent 4. Walleye with guanciale. - delicious 5. Duck red wine sauce raclette-like cheese, mushroom, cranberries, white asparagus, Dijon mash, cabbage - honestly one of the weirdest mains I've ever had. The duck itself was excellent but the dish wasn't my favourite. I will absolutely go back. Really love this place
Amazing vibe & eclectic presentation of dishes. I highly recommend the tasting menu as it had a focus on Asian seafood dishes which were impeccable!
