So finally I went to the new Moishe's. I will say this, the food is good the atmosphere & service are great. For a fancy restaurant it's super friendly to kids (like really I was so impressed). The only real complain it does not fulfill my nostalgic Moishe experience. No person that remembers your coat, no selection of old school candy, an no old Jewish vibe. It's just another restaurant named Moishe. I also don't eat steak these days so I can't review if the steak is as good but my brother said it was. So Overall I would recommend this restaurant especially if you have kids. but you are not getting Moishe's.
A very refined steakhouse with an elegant atmosphere & excellent service. The ribeye was outstanding perfectly cooked, flavorful, & clearly of high quality. The desserts were also a highlight; the chocolate praline cake was exceptional, easily one of the best I've had in a long time.
That said, this restaurant is definitely on the expensive side. For a steakhouse, the prices are quite high, & you are essentially paying a premium for the quality of the meat. Our bill came to around $400 for two people. Given the price point, it would have been appreciated if sides, such as potatoes, were included rather than ordered separately.
Overall, despite the cost, the food quality, service, & ambiance were excellent, & the experience was very enjoyable. I would return for a special occasion, knowing what to expect in terms of pricing.
Pour moi c'était la 2 ième fois que j'allais souper. c'était juste excellent cetsit encore meilleur que l'an dernière quand j'ai suis aller , & vraiment j'ai hâte du retourner tout est super !! Je le recommander a n'importe qui qui adore les steakhouse
- Impeccable service. Water was refilled regularly without us having to ask.
- We ordered the lunch table d'hôte, which is only available on weekdays.
- Complimentary bread, coleslaw, & pickles were served at the table.
- The grilled shrimp were really good, with a nice smoky flavor. The tomato salsa was surprisingly good, especially its sweetness.
- The ribeye was really good-slightly under-seasoned, but they provide steak spices on the side, which helps.
- I appreciated the extras: a choice of sauce (I chose pepper sauce), steak spice blend, & garlic confit, which allow for different flavor & texture combinations.
- They let you choose your steak knife, which is a nice touch, although the one I picked was a bit dull.
- The mille-feuille was also excellent.
- Restrooms were very clean, & I liked that they offer several amenities such as mouth rinse, Q-tips, etc.
I had the rib eye, & it was worth every penny, absolutely delicious & cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, & while the appetizers were good, they were definitely unnecessary because the steak was enormous! Highly recommend this place.
Dined at Moishes Steakhouse on Dec 24 around 9 PM with my family. Service was okay, but the food was a complete failure.
Every dish we ordered was overly heavy, greasy, & drenched in butter. At the table, nothing seemed obviously wrong - but about two hours later, my entire family became sick. We spent Christmas stuck in the washroom instead of enjoying the holiday.
I don't know which dish caused it, & honestly it doesn't matter. After eating here, we all got stomach flu-like symptoms, & that says enough.
For a restaurant at this price point, this experience was unacceptable. Christmas ruined. Never again.
WOW! J'ai déjà été dans des restos de luxe, mais JAMAIS on ne nous a servis aux petits soins comme Moishes l'a fait! Clairement mon resto préféré, j'ai déjà hâte d'y retourner. Après toute cette expérience, j'aurais pu croire que ça nous aurait coûté AU MOINS 100 $ chacun, pour moi & mon copain. On a TRÈS bien mangé pour 172 $, 2 bières incluses! Oui, c'est du luxe, mais quand on compare avec les autres, & qu'on inclut les détails, la beauté du resto & la qualité, c'est incroyable.
Tout est dans les détails, & ça, Moishes l'a compris!
Premièrement, à la seconde où je me suis assise… mon Dieu que les chaises & les bancs sont confortables! Faut s'y asseoir pour comprendre, j'aurais pu y dormir!
Ensuite, les entrées faites maison au début (cornichons, salade de chou, pain & beurre) à volonté étaient incroyables. Quand je vous parle de détails, ce sont des choses comme le beurre, qui est fouetté (& sûrement fait maison?), avec de gros grains de sel à l'intérieur, juste délicieux.
Ensuite, le serveur nous dit qu'il peut sortir une planche avec toutes les coupes de steak pour qu'on puisse voir les grosseurs. Il explique très bien les mets &, tout au long du repas, je n'ai jamais manqué d'eau. Ils sont aussi ultra sympathiques!
Puis, quand ils viennent te servir ton plat, ils t'amènent une planche avec plusieurs choix de couteaux! Je n'avais jamais vu ça ailleurs , encore une fois, les détails!
À la fin, des chocolats à la menthe très appréciés, fait eux même, encore une fois gratuits.
Ils amènent aussi une serviette chaude pour se laver les mains avant de partir. Sans parler de la salle de bain, qui a absolument tout ce dont tu as besoin : Q-tips, détachant à vêtements, tampons (tellement utile), cure-dents & même du rince-bouche! Je dis souvent que la salle de bain reflète la qualité du restaurant, & j'en ai eu la preuve. Là-bas, ce que tu utilises pour te sécher les mains, ce sont des serviettes individuelles.
Mon entrée (tartare de boeuf) était parfaitement balancée en saveurs, & mon plat principal était une des meilleures viandes que j'ai mangées; la cuisson était parfaite. Que dire de la polenta! Première fois que j'en mangeais & j'ai été agréablement surprise. Il ont même servis deux sorte de sels assaisonnée.
J'ai déjà hâte d'y retourner & je le conseille à tous mes proches! Merci encore pour cette expérience, & bravo au cuisinier & au serveur. Vous avez fait de mon Noël un grand plaisir.
A great steak. Our sever couldn't have been more helpful. I've been as a child & now as an adult. I appreciate it so much more.
We had the caviar special from Siberia. 120 grams. Our waitress paired a bottle of champagne & offered us chilled shots of vodka complimentary. The steaks were cooked to perfection medium rare of course! The entire staff was very friendly to our children 6 & 9 years old. We will be back & highly recommend them for a romantic dinner alone or with the entire family.
Made reservations, waited 30 minutes to be seated, reason being there was missing plates. Then I asked for half of my steak to be wrapped up & brought home, my waiter said yes & then proceeded to throw it out & blamed it on the busboy who was actually working amazingly the whole night; it was clear that the waiter threw it out & not the busboy. The busboy I believe named'Rumen', was incredible, great service by him. I was offered a free coffee in return. $40 in the garbage & terrible service. Very disappointed with a place like Moishes; an institutional place in Montreal known for their excellent hospitality & service. To be offered a free coffee when half of my $80 ribeye was thrown out is ridiculous.
Great ambience & outstanding service. The fried Brussels sprouts were incredible & the steaks were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend
Hosted a business dinner for 7. Most seemed satisfied but nobody raved about it. Service was excellent, atmosphere is nice but a bit loud for conversation.
Personally my own experience wasn't that good...my filet mignon ordered medium was very overcooked. The server immediately agreed & removed it, but I had 15 minutes wait for a new one, ordered medium rare to give them a better chance, & still received a tough, charred'tip' cut filet & still overcooked. I had already endured teasing comments from my table about how I was so picky & slowing down dinner. All in fun but I wasn't going to send a second steak back & here more from them, but would have done so if alone. It's a steakhouse... getting the steak perfect is job 1 (also 2 & 3).
Unfortunately, it's either I was not hungry or the food was just above average. For being before at their old spot I know they can cook an amazing steak. It's the Cesar salad I was disappointed in. Otherwise, they still serve the cold slaw, the pickle & the challah as you walk in &, just for that, it's worth a visit.
Awesome steakhouse with amazing meats & perfect service. The dill pickles in brine, & the sour cabbage salad for the table are just an awesome treat. Wines are indeed expensive (pushing it a bit) but you can find something at a decent price. Overall a great place for a special dinner.
I've been returning here for the past couple of months. Service was friendly, top notch. Good ambience, not much waiting time.
I like their cod. The beef tartare was a pleasant surprise. The grilled brusselsprout with maple syrup though, now that's a treat. The grilled salmon was mediocre, nothing special. I do love their pickles!
I'd probably return to try their steaks & update my review.

Une expérience gastronomique de haut niveau chez Moishes ! Ce steakhouse est sans aucun doute l'un des meilleurs en ville. Dès l'accueil, le personnel se montre professionnel, attentionné & chaleureux on se sent immédiatement entre de bonnes mains.
L'ambiance est à la fois classe & conviviale, parfaite pour un souper d'affaires, un repas en couple ou une soirée entre amis. Le service est impeccable.
Côté nourriture, c'est tout simplement exceptionnel. Les steaks sont cuits à la perfection, tendres & savoureux, avec une qualité de viande remarquable. Les accompagnements - pommes de terre, légumes, pain signature - complètent le tout à merveille. & que dire des entrées & desserts : un vrai régal du début à la fin.
Un grand bravo à toute l'équipe de Moishes pour leur constance & leur souci du détail. Une adresse incontournable pour tous les amateurs de bonne viande & de service irréprochable. 🍷🥩
I took a team of 10 hockey players for our annual team dinner & it was an amazing experience. We are from New York & I have eaten at all of the very best steakhouses in New York City & Moises is right at home in that category. Our waiter Allan was absolutely magnificent. The sommelier made excellent recommendations for wine. The steak presentation was incredibly impressive & let's just say all of the food was five star. We will be back again next year thank you so much for an incredible experience.
Solid place & still had some of the vibes of the original. More choices on menu, but steak is the way to go.
