About

Moishes Steakhouse focuses on high quality cuts of meat prepared with precision using traditional grilling methods. The menu centers on prime beef selections aged to achieve maximum tenderness and flavor profile. Patrons encounter a variety of fresh seafood options that supplement the meat centric offerings. Each steak undergoes searing over high heat to lock in natural juices while creating a distinct charred crust. The interior layout utilizes dark wood textures and leather seating to establish a grounded professional environment. Staff members provide consistent technical service focused on the prompt delivery of plates and beverages. This establishment maintains a rigorous commitment to ingredient sourcing and culinary consistency for every preparation of fish and grill specialties.

Many guests highlight the polished, professional service and warm hospitality as key factors that make their visits memorable, with specific appreciation for the attentive staff and the welcoming, traditional touches like the complimentary appetizers. This restaurant really knows how to treat its guests. I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant & felt an old school vibe of hospitality like this. From the valet that walked me to the door under an umbrella, to being correctly greeted by the manager & staff & the door , to the fact that they put complimentary hot bread, pickles & coleslaw on the table- you could not feel more welcome. Other steakhouses in Montreal could learn from them. Their wait staff is EXTREMELY professional, from the way they speak to how they pour the drinks & clear the table. The cocktails are strong & the food - FANTASTIC. I had the filet mignon & wedge salad , with berries for dessert & my friend had the beef carpaccio & homemade ice cream / brownie & all of it was perfect. We're lucky enough to eat at a lot of nice restaurants & this is one of the few I feel was absolutely worth the money & I will return to repeatedly. The little chocolate at the end was also a nice touch. Don't change anything about your traditions, they make all the difference.

My wife & I just got married (May 2026) & the night after the wedding, we travelled to Montreal & had our first dinner date as husband & wife. There truly was nowhere else I would have taken her except to Moishes. In fact, for the two week honeymoon, & planning everything, Moishes was the first confirmed location on my plan, even before where we would stay, etc.

I have been to Moishes multiple times, with others & with my kids. I wasn't aware that Moishes moved from their previous second floor location until I got the walking instructions from my hotel, & it was then that I realized they changed locations. I quite enjoyed their new location as it is brighter, more easily accessible. But what remains the same is the food - absolutely tremendous & continues to set the bar for quality, & anyone in Montreal MUST have Moishes in their dining itinerary at some point.

The last number of times I was there, I ordered the same thing - the filet mignon & the creamed spinach. Both are out of this world & if I could have access to this every day (& have deep enough pockets to afford it), I would eat this day in & day out. As always it was amazing, done exactly how I like & impeccable flavour.

I believe my wife had the ribs & the mixed grilled vegetables (& a salad) & as always, the presentation, colour, etc, not to mention the flavour was unparalled. & of course, the pickles were to die for (my wife's words). I think after two weeks of travelling 4 provinces & going to many, many restaurants, Moishes still holds the gold standard for her for her favourite meal.

Service was extraordinary. Server was friendly, knowledgeable, & was timely & responsive to our needs.

Going to Moishes is a given for us, when we are in Montreal. I am glad my wife has become a believer in how good this restaurant is. Moishes has earned top marks every time I have dined there & this time is no exception. Easy five stars, every day of the week.

Excellent service, food, & atmosphere. We enjoyed the Tomahawk, which was very tasty, along with the lobster mac & cheese, a must-try! The Caesar salad was also delicious.

Unfortunately, it's either I was not hungry or the food was just above average. For being before at their old spot I know they can cook an amazing steak. It's the Cesar salad I was disappointed in. Otherwise, they still serve the cold slaw, the pickle & the challah as you walk in &, just for that, it's worth a visit.

Awesome steakhouse with amazing meats & perfect service. The dill pickles in brine, & the sour cabbage salad for the table are just an awesome treat. Wines are indeed expensive (pushing it a bit) but you can find something at a decent price. Overall a great place for a special dinner.
