Review Summary

Overall, Miette Boulangerie earns praise for its bread, especially the sourdough, with many noting a soft, airy crumb, great flavor, and fresh items like focaccia and cardamom knots, and sandwiches that can be excellent when the bread is at its best; some reviews also point to inconsistent loaf quality with large holes and occasional faults, prices that feel high, and practical annoyances such as limited slicing hours and rules that can disappoint regulars, while certain fillings and balances in sandwiches suffer when there is too much dijon or underwhelming sun-dried tomatoes appear; despite price concerns, it is described by many as one of the best boulangeries in Montreal and a standout cafe with attentive, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere; the bottom line is that the bread is outstanding and the shop is beloved by bread lovers, with hits like the club sandwich and a strong, fresh daily bread selection, though a few notes of caution about consistency and value remain.

Love the walnut & olive sourdough!

In a different league when it comes to bread. Some of the best you'll find anywhere… full stop.

In the middle of a brutal Montreal winter, it's almost absurdly simple: fresh bread, good olive oil, honey, butter. That's it. Add a real coffee if you can find one in this city, & it turns into something close to perfection…

But the experience isn't flawless. Service is cold, almost dismissive, even for regulars. No warmth, no connection. You come in, you get your bread, you pay, you leave. Still worth it. You go there for the bread, not the welcome 😉

Olive & walnut loaf was flat & a bit gummy but they were fair & knocked two bucks off the price. Taste was interesting, crumb still holding. Maybe not the best day.

Asked to buy some of their starter, cashier said it was their'closely guarded secret', politely refused. Was advised to ask other bakeries in the area. I wonder if that secret is holding them back. Great baguettes, though!

Amazing bread definitely next level. If you are near the area do yourself a favour & call in. The olive & walnut is to die for.

Great bread. As others noted, I don't understand the no slicing policy. At this price point it should be an option to those who want it sliced at the time of purchase. Doing it at home just doesn't come out the same! Also they run out quickly, I came to the store twice & at 1 pm they were out of the Olive walnut...

From the moment you enter this boulangerie, you know that you will be eating the best bread in Montreal. They also offer daily specials/sandwiches to be enjoyed at the tables in front or walk to the canal & enjoy a picnic. I had the tuna sandwich & it was decadent. Also purchased the nut & olive bread, all breads are sourdough bread & very high quality ingredients. A must if in the neighborhood!

Loveliest little bakery with the best bread I've had in Montréal. Don't miss the focaccia or the olive walnut loaf!

Amazing sourdough breads! If I had to pick a favorite, it's the olive-walnut loaf. But it's hard to choose as they're all so delicious & worth the price!
