The self-serve concept could definitely feel a bit impersonal, however the staff are very friendly & always happy to help with your order. You can warm up your breads on-site as well - the breads are baked fresh. The espresso drinks aren't bad either. Worth stopping by to try if you're in the area!
Disappointing Renovation I used to love Mamie Clafoutis & visited often to buy their delicious products, but the recent renovation is incredibly disappointing. The bakery now feels more like a cold, corporate market than the warm, inviting bakery it once was. The new environment lacks charm & personality, making it unappealing to shop there. It no longer feels like a place where you can enjoy authentic baked goods-just a market selling bakery items. Sadly, I won't be returning.
After the renovations, the changes are more than architectural. What was once my main place for exercising my spoken French (ordering & chatting with the young & kind staff) is now self-serve with an app, scan the product & checkout with Google pay. Of all the places to go this route, Mamie Clafoutis is the last one I expected. Otherwise it is the same great baked goods & variety... with one exception - the ficelles with blue cheese & walnuts are now refrigerated (I am afraid, this change I literally cannot swallow...)
Went into the newly renovated store & it was an amazing experience. Store is super modern, filled with helpful smiling employees, & lovely delicious pastries. Had the best cinnamon roll of my life & some gorgeous milk bread. The experience was smooth & prices are great for the amazing quality. Young female employee with brown hair was exceptionally helpful & kind. Will definitely revisit & encourage all to do the same so they can try delectable baked goods in an exceptional atmosphere. Bakery of the FUTURE!!!
Cute little shop with many delectable baked goods, though sadly nothing was gluten-free. However, my mocha was one of the best I've ever had & my partner thoroughly enjoyed her almond chocolate croissant. I recommend this on the mocha alone.
i really like this place - the atmosphere is amazing, it’s a good study spot, & the baked good are delightful. wonderful staff as well.
Very good. Very friendly too.
I went in with my Franglais & the girl smiled & spoke to me in English. I asked to order in French & she was okay & repeated everything back to get my pronunciation right & then in English to confirm.
I bought a selection of baked items. The very recently devoured cinnamon roll was out of this world good. More of a croissant texture, perfect levels of sugar & spice, moist & crumbly. It was the best I’ve ever had. We also got a chocolate & pistachio croissant, pain chocolats & a couple of baguettes. There’s also sandwiches to go, which I didn’t need but I saw some egg mayo (egg salad), tuna, breakfast, cheese & ham.
So good, shame we’re only passing through the city en route
