Mamie Clafoutis specializes in artisanal French baking characterized by high-quality ingredients and traditional fermentation techniques. The menu features a diverse selection of signature crusty sourdough breads alongside classic buttery viennoiseries like golden croissants and pain au chocolat. Customers encounter a display filled with fruit-topped tarts, rich eclairs, and indulgent almond financiers prepared daily on site. The establishment operates with an open-concept layout where the scent of toasted flour and caramelized sugar permeates the space. Beverages include a selection of premium loose-leaf teas and rich espresso-based drinks designed to complement the dense textures of the various pastries. This bakery maintains consistent standards across its various locations, ensuring that every batch of dough adheres to strict artisan protocols before moving into the stone ovens for precise baking.
Mamie Clafoutis receives consistently high praise for the quality and flavor of its baked goods, with customers frequently highlighting the excellent croissants, viennoiseries, and specialty breads. While the products remain a neighborhood favorite, reviews regarding the recent shift to an automated, self-service model are highly polarized. Many patrons appreciate the convenience and efficiency of the new system, yet long-time visitors often express nostalgia for the lost warmth and personal service of the previous atmosphere. Concerns regarding the lack of seating, the implementation of tipping on self-service transactions, and inconsistent product freshness are also noted, though the helpful nature of the staff continues to be a recurring point of positive feedback.
Fresh bakery with some coffee drinks. Had the pistachio croissant & chocolatine (pain au chocolat), delectable. They can toast them for you before you go. Service is great! No proper seating, just 3 stools by the window if you need to sit. Select your own baked goods & pay at the register or online (there's instructions). Drinks are dispensed in the middle island & you can select on a tablet what you want, add syrups, & pay at the register.
Stopped by this neat place for some coffee because of a strawberries pie sign :) it turned out to be a fresh bakery with coffee, fresh pastries, pies & a few other sweet things. Great staff, very helpful & friendly. Both our cold & hot coffees were good, so we're the pastries. It's not a cafe per se, it has no proper seating, but I'd come back for the bread, it looks really good!
I visited Mamie Clafoutis last Saturday & everything we tried was delicious! We bought some amazing sugar-covered pastries & the meringues were absolutely incredible - light, sweet, & honestly some of the best I've had.
The bakery smells amazing when you walk in, & you can tell everything is fresh. I would say it feels more like a bakery than a café - even though they do sell coffee & have a couple of small tables inside, the space doesn't really invite you to stay there for long. We were a group of 5, & there wasn't enough room for us to sit comfortably, so we ended up just taking everything to go.
Still, the quality of the pastries made it completely worth it, & I'll definitely be coming back!

'm writing because I left your café today feeling genuinely disappointed & disrespected. I came in as a paying customer, bought food, & the moment I finished eating, a staff member told me I had to leave because I was taking up space for other customers.
I shouldn't have to explain why that's wrong. This is a sit-down coffee shop - people come here to spend time, not to be rushed out the door the second their plate is cleared. What made it worse was that it was clear this treatment was based on my age. I was treated as an inconvenience rather than a customer who had just given you my business.
A truly artisanal boulangerie & pâtisserie with a unique charm. The decorations are beautiful, & the interior design is warm & inviting. The breads & confectionery are always fresh, carefully made, & full of flavor. The creative coffee machine adds a special touch to the experience. The attendant is friendly & welcoming, making each visit pleasant. A unique bakery that stands out & is well worth a stop.
The Bread is always great, this is not the problem. It is not the same place since the renovation. No panache, no atmosphere, cramped tables with products being sold on them as you drink your coffee, plus my bread wasn't sliced properly & was all broken. The love is gone!
I love this place, living in Montreal it is my to go place for breakfast & a late coffee , the Oh Mon Dieu croissant is the best of the world. This is an iconic place that represents the great food & nice vibrant environment in Montreal.

J'adore cet endroit.
If you're looking for a unique coffee experience, Mamie Clafoutis is an absolute gem! Their coffee maker is a work of art, brewing the perfect cup every time, rich in flavor & incredibly smooth. The vibe of the shop itself is warm & inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends.
Now, let's talk about the Oh Mon Dieu pastry. WOW. It's a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth treat that's unlike anything I've had before. The layers, the sweetness, the texture - it's all perfection in one bite. This pastry alone is worth the visit!
