We were 3 people at our table each meal was served 15 mins apart.
I ordered the green curry chicken.
It was my mistake, 3 pieces of boiled chicken with skin & steamed rice.. To be fair, my friends enjoyed their meals, pad Thai & braised beef & noodles.
This place seems very popular so many must enjoy it.
Casual dining. Order & pay at the till. Grab a seat. We had beef soup, pad thai. All taste great & flavorful. Portions are good, but can't say generous. Would visit again to try other menu items.
The food was a bit disappointing. I was very excited to hear this place had boat noodles as I fell in love with in when I was in Thailand. However, the broth was not good. It was very thick & foggy - looked like the broth was made without removing the meat scum. You can see it in the photo.
We also had one of their dry noodles which had no flavour.
The pork ball was alright, a bit on the mushy side. The beef/ pork slices were good though. It had a nice texture & flavour to it.
I wouldn't come back… it's not worth the 20$ per bowl.
The waitress recommended Braised beef noodle to me. It's delicious with extremely strong flavours. Quite oily & heavy to me, but I still think it's good. Little bit dehydrated after eating this, but if you're looking for something strong & full of umami & spices, this is your go-to!
The braised beef soup was very good. I had to ask them for the spice rack. When they initially opened they would always give it to you.
We were 6, & we all enjoyed our food. I ordered a braised beef noodle soup, it was delicious!
Great authenticity. The todmun hai is on point. Except the broth stock should be consistent with chicken not beef. The beef stock didn't pair as well with the gai. We had street noodle quiew tiew dry moo was excellent included with fixing that you'd discover with Thai street food. & last dish was the crispy pork. Good as well. The atmosphere was cramped & busy. Not my preference. But the food flavors made it worth it. Overall great service & well attentive & friendly.
Great food with good flavour. The beef stew noodle soup reminds me of some Chinese beef stew I had when I was younger. Price is reasonable. Would go again.
Yummy food. I had a beef noodle dish & Thai Iced Tea. Interestingly, you wait to be seated, sit, look at the menu & stand up & order & pay at the counter & then bring a number back to your table.
Can't stop thinking about the beef noodle soup. My husband & I loved it. They didn't have high chairs for my toddler & the restaurant is small but the food made up for it. Will definitely come back!
We went today because it's not far from home, what can I say, the food is delicious, but in my opinion, it was very salty & greasy, we took chicken & beef soup. But the rolls are very tasty, vegan really😅the staff is friendly, but you have to pay before you eat. Respectively. You don't know how much to tip because you don't know what the service will be like. The atmosphere is just normal, average.
It drives me crazy when people think ethnic food - mostly Asian - should be cheap & plentiful. This place is reasonably priced given today's inflated market for food but given the skill, care & quality that one experiences when dining here - it's a bargain. I had watched a movie about a Thai restaurant & had an insatiable craving for Thai noodles. Or a trip to Thailand. The next day I did a search of places to go & Mae Sri popped up. It was one of our daughter's favourite restaurants as a student when she lived in Montreal & she had taken us there years ago. So I went to their new location. I had the Pad See Ew with beef - not chicken - as the server said it was his favourite. I had originally thought I'd eat half & take the rest for left overs the next night but what came out was one perfect portion for one person. Which was good. Because I wouldn't have shared even if it were more. The guy lan was perfect. Noodles. Outstanding. & the beef was tremendous. All came together in a plate of Thai street food at Canadian prices for a meal. The menu is quite a bit more expansive so I will go back. But the food still lingers in my mind. Which makes it a heck of a bargain.
