Visited before a show yesterday, waited for a while after ordering, when the food is up they said the hainan chicken i ordered is out, it took them too long to inform me about it. I ordered green curry as they recommend changing into something with the same price, & chose rice instead of vermicelli. But when the dish came, it was with vermicelli. Also, different from last visit, the Thai milk tea is full of ice & got so diluted. Lastly, since they only accept payment ahead, we can't really reflect this in tipping. Very disappointing service.
The best thai restaurant in Montreal! Im absolutely blown away by the flavour & thé authenticity of the dishes. I got the pad thai & dry noodles. Phenomenal. Highly recommend the thai green tea milk tea, refreshing! Nothing bad to say!
We've been to this place twice now, the fried chicken is absolutely great! We also tried the noodles & rice, but they're not as special as the chicken. & don't forget the Thai milk tea - it's a refreshing treat. Overall, it was a great experience, & we'll definitely be back!
Very beautiful decor, toilets could use a little fresh up. The food was very average especially for the price, but the thai tea & green tea with condensed milk were delicious. We ordered the baa mee moo soup & specifically asked for not spicy for my partner (on the menu it said not spicy too), yet it was still spicy. We told the server & she said it was the pepper...You shouldn't treat customers like idiots, I eat spicy food & I know the spice was not from the pepper...we could even see the chili flakes on the broth. We were taken aback by that treatment & the lack of enthusiasm in general from the staff
Mae Sri Comptoir Thai in Montreal has a charming, intimate ambiance, but our recent visit had a rough start. Arriving around noon, about 30 minutes after opening, we were met with an unpleasant sewage-like odor in the restaurant that lingered throughout our meal, unfortunately detracting from the overall atmosphere.
The QR code for the menu wasn't working, though the server quickly offered to airdrop it, which was a nice, tech-savvy workaround. Our food arrived promptly, & prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The Pad See Ew noodles were served a bit more al dente than we prefer. The dry noodle dishes had a flavor profile that leaned milder than traditional - not as savoury as they traditionally are. The papaya salad could have used a little more zest as well, but the Thai iced tea was refreshing & enjoyable.
Overall, Mae Sri Comptoir Thai is decent, with fair pricing & good service, but it may not be our top pick for Thai food in Montreal.
A friend & I stopped here for dinner & it was pretty good! The staff were very nice. The kar pow was great & my friend really liked her Tom yum soup! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely try the Thai ice tea with condensed milk & the papaya salad.
Yummy food. I had a beef noodle dish & Thai Iced Tea. Interestingly, you wait to be seated, sit, look at the menu & stand up & order & pay at the counter & then bring a number back to your table.
The Thai iced tea is delicious & authentic! I've been to Thailand & I drank a lot of Thai iced tea there, so I can confidently say that the Thai iced tea here is awesome.
The pad see ew was really good. The texture of the noodles were the highlight, retaining a bit of chew compared to a lot of other pad see ew place. The pad kra pow was also really good, but the heat was missing. I don't think they used thai chilies so it was slightly disappointing. The Thai milk tea & the Thai lemon tea were both delicious.
The food was really good. We tried their Pad Thai with chicken & prawns, Thai Milk tea, Hainan fried chicken with rice & their chicken balls appetizer. Would definitely recommend !
We loved it here so much. Very tasty meals. I'm not sure if it's authentic but the taste is pretty much as in Asia 👍👍👍 My order was amaaaaazing!!! Thai iced milk tea is definitely a must too!
The vibe in that place was super chill & lowkey. Loved the touch they made with the cups they served our thai tea with! The appetizers are alright, but the main star of the show were the soups! The servers would recommend you trying their soups, & you should listen to them! We took 3 different soups. They are so generous with the meat & the noodles, & the broth is very rich in flavor!
I really couldn't figure out how this restaurant averages four stars. The atmosphere was very nice. The people were friendly but there was no table service & you had to figure out your order & just go up to the counter & order it like you were at a take out place. As far as the food goes..... There are no drinks available except for cold tea. The food is served on a piece of sea vegetable which had a strong taste the food. The food was glistening with oil. Small servings. It was adequate but underwhelming for the price point & the high rating it got from other people.
Quite expensive for the meal since it is considered as street food style Thai food.
We ordered Tom yun soup 8/10 & pad Thai 8/10. The portion for pad Thai is very small, like 50% less comparing to Thai express. The tomyum soup does have a variety of seafood.
We also got the Thai milk tea. I am NOT sure why everyone is recommending that since it is obvious the canned stuff with a nice glass & some ice.
The washroom was very clean.
The food is good, & the service is usually good. But today we just good two I’ll-mannered servers, especially the first one who placed my teas, spilling some of it on the table, saying “here’s your tea” with the worst attitude possible. The second server slammed my food plate on the table, but at least apologized , as the plate was really hot (according to him). It makes me feel frustrated you have to pay right the moment you order, at which moment I also included the tip in the payment, something I regret. I don’t agree with paying a tip before service is delivered, especially when the service provided is not up to par.
Update: I’m giving 2 stars instead of one as the supervisor gladly listened to our feedback. Thank you for that.
