Sat at the bar & was served by the sweetest waitress/bartender ever Haylo! She was amazing. She gave us great recommendations. The food was delicious with amazing presentation & they were very assiduous with the cutlery, plate changes, water, drinks, etc. We highly recommend the tuna carp, the cesar salad, crab cake, the scallops, the brioche, the rigatoni. I forget the name of the dessert but like just look at it like unbelievably yum. Seriously great fun cozy vibes, good drinks, good service, amazing food. 10/10 would recommend.
The carrot cake was to die for. I've been a couple times to Lou's & their food always hits the spot. The staff is friendly & attentive. If there's one restaurant to try in the West Island, it's definitely Lou's.
Dinner for 4. We got 3 starters: crab cake, crispy brussle sprouts & the house buns.
Sprouts were amazing, buns were good, crab cake was just ok.
4 mains: pasta vodka, pasta be obese & 2 burgers. Both pastas were great & the burgers were also quite good, can do salad or fries & get a good portion either way.
1 chocolate cake. This was super good.
We also got Gin fizz, & coffee negroni. The negroni was awesome.
It was LOUD in there, we could still talk but it was nice to walk out to the quiet street after wards. But overall, really enjoyed the experience there. We totalled over $300
Had dinner with some friends. The place was busy & super loud. A bit too loud for me. Justine our waitress was very good. She was friendly & attentive. The crab cake was delicious but wasn't hot enough. Not sure if it hung around in the back counter before it was brought out to me. The food was a hit. My wife's salmon was delicious & had a crispiness she appreciated. My half chicken was on the small side despite the description but was buttery & delicious. It sat in a sort of lentil broth that married very well. We all enjoyed our experience minus the volume. Will be back.
Dined here the other day & it was an amazing experience ! Crab cakes, chicken & pasta were phenomenal! Our server Maggie was such a pleasure , extremely knowledgeable & nice ! Would definitely recommend trying :)
Lou's Restaurant offers an exceptional casual dining experience with a warm & inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is a perfect blend of modern sophistication & relaxed comfort, making it an ideal spot for a memorable evening out. The food is simply outstanding. The fish dish I had was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin & tender, flavorful meat. The crab cakes were a delightful appetizer, packed with rich, succulent crab meat & just the right amount of seasoning. The chicken dish was equally impressive, featuring juicy, well-seasoned meat paired with fresh, vibrant greens. The wine selection is well-curated, complementing the dishes beautifully. I particularly enjoyed a bottle of Vigna Renuzza, which was recommended by the attentive & knowledgeable staff. Overall, Lou's Restaurant delivers on all fronts-delicious food, excellent wine, & a fantastic atmosphere. It's a place I'll definitely return to & highly recommend to others looking for a top-notch dining experience. One suggestion is to definitely get an espresso machine. Please. 🙏
Everything we ordered were fantastic. Highly recommend the spicy tuna carpaccio, beef tartare, crab cake, baked scallops as appetizers. Pasta & rib steaks (25oz) were also good. Only minor thing was the fires was overly salted otherwise it was very good fries. Great service & chill vibe. Nice to see that West Island have this kind of restaurant. Highly recommended. The downside was that the restaurant was very warm & humid. Like some other reviews mentioned. The AC definitely not working well.
We just had dinner here, we've been excited to try it since it opened in the village. The food was good. The crab cake was delish! Mmm. The braised beef pappardelle - pasta Genovese was good but not to die for. But, it was way way too hot. We asked the waitress if the ac is working she replied "oh yes it is fully on, it's a small space & doors are open all the time & I'm hot too...". It was also very loud. It's very small & very loud though esthetically pretty. My first choice was the Caesar salad, but I wanted some chicken on it. So I asked & the waitress & she said they can't do it...even though they have a roasted chicken dish. Then I debated the burger, but wanted to substitute the fries for a Caesar salad. She quickly replied "it's company policy we can't do that..." umm... 🙄 Odd as they have a bowl of salad as a meal ( no chicken offered yet they serve chicken as a meal...) very rarely do we come across a restaurant that can't alter or modify things to make customer happy especially a nicer place like this one that isn't a huge chain. The wine & beer were very small for the cost- the beer wasn't even a pint for $9. Overall we didn't enjoy the experience fully. We wouldn't come back unless it was for someone's birthday for example.
Some of the best food in the West Island! Everything was bang on. Food, service, atmosphere. We had a bit of everything.. Oysters, crab cake, beef carpaccio, tuna carpaccio, Parker rolls, chicken dish, sea pass, pasta, fries, it was all very very good. Martinis are also really good. Definitely coming every time I'm in Montreal. They also accommodated our last minute reservation & were super cool when we had to change the reso a few times.
Downtown vibe but in the village. But very loud. The beef tartare, & crab cake were very good. Mac n cheese was a little dry. The burger was excellent. The sea bass was good but a small portion. The eggplant parmigiana was ok & the size was more of an entree than a main. The cocktails were also just ok.
Nice little restaurant with some delicious options. Sea bass was excellent, however the portion was quite small for the asking price. Appetizer of tuna was excellent however the $22 crab cake was over spiced, over priced & lacked the fresh taste of crab. All side dishes are an extra cost. The macaroni & cheese is very strong & their fries while tasty, are not evenly cooked so the majority were overdone. Dessert menu was lacking as they only had one option which was a type of pudding chomeur that resembled more of a piece of French toast with ice cream on top & caramel drizzle. Hopefully they add a coffee menu such as espresso & cappuccino since French press was the only option available. This restaurant is one room that holds about 50-60 people max so the atmosphere is quite loud with no option of reducing the noise. Thankfully, their staff is very professional & provides excellent customer service.
New place in pointe claire village. Ambience was nice. Greeted warmly by staff. Food good. Started w appetizers tuna carpaccio, parker rolls & crab cakes. Finished w main of sea bass which was amazing. Will def go back !
We have wanted to try Lou's out since they opened several months ago but were never able to snag a reservation (probably because we tried to late...obviously) but lady luck finally called in the new year & we got a table (bar only) at the beginning of January 2024. Although there are a number of restaurants in the Pointe Claire Village, Lou's has created both an elegant yet casual ambiance with a mixed Italian/American-style cuisine. After sitting us at the bar & placing our order, a table cleared & we asked to move to it which they happily agreed to...that's appreciated as many restaurants don't want to hassle with moving patrons to new tables. The menu is not extensive but I would say that all types of eaters can find at least one thing on the menu to enjoy. For our meal, we started with the Parker Rolls (good...but the portion was a bit on the small side) & Crab Cake (very good, excellent sauce but a bit on the pricey side for a single cake)...for our main we had the Pasta Genovese (excellent), Eggplant Parmigiana (it seems they fried the eggplant slices to be crispy before being baked...was excellent...highly recommend it) & a side of Creamed Greens (sounds weird, I know, but was actually quite good). When moving from the bar to the table there was an issue with timing of the main meal being delivered. Due to the delay, the manager complimented us with a tasty Strawberry Cookie dessert & a glass of Amara. Both of which were greatly appreciated & enjoyed as well. Service was very good & attentive & we never felt wanting. Although note that there is (currently) a draft due to a faulty door at the back that affects the left side of the restaurant (as you enter). It wasn't terrible but it was noticeable...just ask to sit on the right side if you can. The restaurant is very busy so reservations are highly recommended...at least several days in advance. Enjoy!
My husband & I really enjoyed our dining experience at Lou's in Pointe-Claire. The service was excellent & the lighting decor is warm... very nice atmosphere. A little on the chilly side due to the door opening right into the dining area. The beef tartare was nice, as was our pasta dish & striploin. The ONE thing this restaurant really needs to improve is dessert. Most diners expect more than one option, & if there's only one option, it's needs to be incredible. We had a basic chocolate cake (with sprinkles!), which fell flat for us. If that improves, it would be 5 stars for us.
