We really enjoyed our visit to Le Surcouf on Saturday, March 1st.
We started our culinary experience with complimentary zucchini quiche, followed by creamed mushroom soup (soup of the day), fois gras & lobster bisque. After which we had an apple sorbet to cleanse our palates. Main course consisted of rack of lamb & Flambéed pepper filet mignon. Desserts included:
Baba au Rhum, Crème Brûlée & Vanilla profiteroles in chocolate sauce. Wine list was varied & chose Massimago Mariabella 2022 (Valpolicella Ripasso).
Ambiance was cozy & welcoming. Lighting was soft & inviting.
Highlight of decor was the promotion of local artists' work. Extra promotion of local artist work, on labels of house wines.
The restaurant was a bit expensive, but its excellent service was worth the price.
We would add a light background music to enhance the ambiance.

Another amazing dinner experience at this fantastic restaurant. With the owner always omnipresent & helping staff while making rounds from table to table, great service is assured. The cooking team is outstanding, putting out plate after plate of what is, in my opinion, Michelin quality food. Although the wine selection is very respectable, the house wine is awesome.View more
Every time that we visit Le Surcouf we are never disappointed & the menu selections are fantastic. The meal preparation is outstanding & the presentations are beautiful. The wait staff are always very attentive & professional. The wine list is extensive & unique. When we are looking for a special dinner out, are number one choice is Surfouf & they always make the event special.View more

Staff is great, food very ordinary, over priced, no presentation ,mashed potatoes, 2 bites & ur done,or 4 small round no seasoning potatoes, no effort, charge for bread, Why? How expensive is a baguette .several people at our table & all plates were just ok, on average with wine,entrée, 200$ per couple, meal should be an unforgettable meal. I have lived in the West Island for 17 years & only finally tried this place 😍 I can admit I have been missing out on such a gem! Le Surcouf is our favourite restaurant. My husband says it reminds him of restaurants when we lived in London: Authentic French restaurants.
We always enjoy the food. My daughter has Celiac Disease & their menu is sensitive to gluten free food. Its her favourite restaurant too.
The wine list is extensive & well-priced. We had a wine at Le Surcouf from the vineyard where our son was on honeymoon. We also enjoy their Loire & South African wines.

via LibroI had high hopes for this restaurant. The location, ambiance & service were all special but unfortunately the food missed the mark. We were a party of 4 & we all ordered a version of steak frites. The steaks were burnt on the outside. We aren't talking charred but fully burnt. The taste was horrible & we had to send two back for being rare when medium was requested. The crepes suzette were delicious, the wine selection decent but the four steaks were inedible & that dampened the evening. As a result we won't return & couldn't recommend this restaurant unless they replace the chef.

Consistency in quality & service as good as you can get on the West point of the Island. Personnel is well trained & understand the higher standard & demand. It would be nice to have a wider choice of wines by the glass which can go with the wide range of food they offer.
Reservation required, especially on Saturday nights. The place was buzzing with every table occupied.

via LibroAll is there! We love to try French cuisine restaurants & my first choice is always at Le Surcouf. Quality price is hard to beat. Wine list is from a private reserve & prices are very reasonable. They have gluten free bread, flour etc no need to worry if you are celiac of simply intolerant to weat. reservations were easy would recommend to make them a few days before as the restaurant is always packed.

via LibroHurry! IF you haven't returned in 20 years, please do it now! This mainstay of Ste Anne de Bellevue has been tastefully updated & their menu is fine French cuisine. The service matches the cuisine! Great weekly specials too! Impressive but not overwhelming wine list.
