Food ,service & attention to detail are all excellent. The bistro menu on weekdays maintains the quality at an affordable price. No background music is a plus.
Many smaller rooms means the noise level is much lower so you can enjoy you own conversation
Never been disappointed

Always consistant in quality & service .. our monthly go to ..View more
We hadn't been in a couple of years although it was always a favourite. Glad to see the quality & service are still at 100%. These days it's not easy to find traditional French cuisine...everything is molecular this, gastronomic that... usually some celebrity chef-du-Jour showing off his cooking skills. But Le Surcouf remains true to its origins & purpose...outstanding traditional French cuisine. Sure, the flourishes & extra touches are there, but the backbone is wonderful taste sparing no expense in terrific ingredients. After all, where can you still get a whole sole Meunière, filleted & cleaned table-side. Or crepe suzettes flambeed before your eyes. Not that I mind creative cuisine, but it's always good to get back to the traditions that set the stage for everyone else. Le Surcouf is a West-Island gem that can compete with the best of downtown, & in a gorgeous setting. I needed smelling salts when I saw the bill, but it was worth it!View more
Pleasantly surprised by the choices in the menu, quality of food & very French dishes. Only reason not giving full 5 stars, welcome on arrival could be improved & the tuna tataki seemed not at its best but the rognon was quite goodView more
We had a lovely meal here. Food was delicious, & very beautifully presented, service was exactly the right amount of attentive, & price was very good for the quality. We dined very early, so the place was pretty empty, but the overall ambience is relaxed but classy.View more
This place would be a hidden gem if it weren't for it's already well deserved reputation. Spectacular food & service. The private ambience makes for a fine dining experience focused on the food, wine. Fair value as well, considering the quality of the food.View more
We had excellent service with Magali & Joelle. All I can say is the quality of the food is equal to the quality of the service. 5 stars all around. The tuna tataki was so good. The crust was perfect & it melted in our mouth. The fiisf was perfectly seasoned & cookd. The Supreme of chicken with the ceasar salad was great. The salad dressing was homemade & light. To repeat.View more
Another amazing dinner experience at this fantastic restaurant. With the owner always omnipresent & helping staff while making rounds from table to table, great service is assured. The cooking team is outstanding, putting out plate after plate of what is, in my opinion, Michelin quality food. Although the wine selection is very respectable, the house wine is awesome.View more
I've been to Le Surcouf a few times over the years, & it's always a great experience. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for an intimate meal, & the service is consistently excellent. The owner is very present, visiting tables & adding to the general atmosphere of refined bonhomie. What the menu lacks in variety, they more than make up for in quality & as a fan of French cuisine, I'm always impressed with the dishes. You really can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. This is real gem on the West Island, & must-try at least once.View more
I have lived in the West Island for 17 years & only finally tried this place 😍 I can admit I have been missing out on such a gem! The food was delicious, the flavours were simple with such high quality. The atmosphere was so cosy & sophisticated & the service was lovely. Had a wonderful time. Their speciality wine is totally worth it!! Already excited to come & try more dishes 😊View more
Le Surcouf is our special place & it always excels, in ambiance, food quality, & service. The staff are so friendly & professional. Our meals were perfectly prepared & delicious.
ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN MONTREAL! SERVICE,AMBIANCE & QUALITY
Quaint little restaurant that has homemade everything, good quality, cooked to perfection.View more
The Service was great, I came here based on the Google reviews & I was let down. The food is way to overpriced, & the quality was below average. They did give one of our meals for free because my wife didn't touch it. Don't be fooled by all these Google reviews!View more
This restaurant has sadly dropped off in quality. It used to be fabulous. We went there last night for our 25th anniversary & what a disappointment. My husband's very well done filet mignon came medium & pink in the middle. I know it's hard for a chef but we even said butterfly it. My steak tartare was not pink. It was partially grey & no flavour- no capers or anything. I was asked if I wanted the spicy version & I said yes. I got a bland greyish unflavoured blob. No correction to the bill. My old fashioned was not made properly either.
Consistency in quality & service as good as you can get on the West point of the Island. Personnel is well trained & understand the higher standard & demand. It would be nice to have a wider choice of wines by the glass which can go with the wide range of food they offer.
Reservation required, especially on Saturday nights. The place was buzzing with every table occupied.
Top menu, quality of food & wine in a beautiful setting. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
Delicious food in a warm & charming setting. Every dish is presented beautifully & the food is excellent. I highly recommend this dining experience to everyone. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the food & the excellent service.
All is there! We love to try French cuisine restaurants & my first choice is always at Le Surcouf. Quality price is hard to beat. Wine list is from a private reserve & prices are very reasonable. They have gluten free bread, flour etc no need to worry if you are celiac of simply intolerant to weat. reservations were easy would recommend to make them a few days before as the restaurant is always packed.
We love the fact that Gluten -Free is highlighted in the menu, not as an afterthought. Food quality & service is superb, in both languages. A superior dining experience.
First time back since December due to Omicron, & still excellent food, service & ambience. Still the best restaurant on the West Island for quality & price.
I would rate this restaurant for food quality & impecable servis one Michellin star.
Absolutely perfect from the service to ambiance to the beautiful quality of the sublime meals. We will be back.
Another great meal at Le Surcouf. Quality produce, presented well, cooked to perfection with attentive, but unobtrusive service. Everything you look for in a busy, quality restaurant. I try to come every time I'm in Montreal.
My husband & I have lived in SAdB for almost 10 years but have only just recently visited Le Surcouf for dinner. We have been there twice now this summer & experienced our best meals of all time. The service was very friendly & warm & the food was impeccable. Between the display, taste & quality of each dish the meal was unique & authentically delicious. We have eaten in great restaurants all over the world & the quality is comparable. The price maybe a little high for some but when you look at it overall then it's truly worth the value. Their Bistro menu is worth a start being lesser priced yet still keeping within their high quality standard. We now look forward to our next meal at Le Surcouf with much anticipation.
Where do I begin ?
I've lived on the west island for over 20 years & dine
out alot. We just discovered this GREAT place Sept/2012. To bad we didn't try it before.
Without a doubt the BEST in Ste-Anne's & in the top
10 of the west island. The quality of the dish's in concept, presentation & taste all top notch. Great service & a charming atmosphere from yesteryear but with forward thinking cuisine. Also great value.
We go often for lunch & diner always consistent.
Keep up the GrEaT experience !
