I visited Le Majestique on a Thursday night, & it's easy to see why the place was packed & lively. I was there solo & had a reservation at the bar, which was the perfect spot to soak in the quirky, homey atmosphere. The service was spot on-attentive enough that I never had to wait for anything, but they definitely didn't hover.
The food was a highlight. I started with a half dozen oysters, which were incredibly fresh. I also ordered the fries-seriously, get them, they are great! For my main, I went with the special, which was the beef cheeks, & I finished things off with the homemade panna cotta. It was all quite good & felt very authentic.
As for the drinks, they are definitely on the heavier & stronger side, which I personally quite enjoyed. If you're looking for a spot with great energy & solid food in Montreal, I'd highly recommend making a reservation here.
Truly the best fries I have ever had. We always stop here when we visit Montreal for a cocktail & a snack, or some oysters during happy hour. It never disappoints - especially when the patio is open in the summer. A classic!
Chicken liver mousse dont sleep on it. Drinks were good. Super chill time. Food came out quickly. Overall a good experience. Had some friends go the next night & they messed up the allergies. Not good.
Anyhow. Roll the dice.
Went here for a bite for a friends birthday after walking by & seeing the amazing atmosphere inside! The salmon dish was amazing - the sauce & crunchy onions on said salmon was amazing. Drinks were great. Fries were very good. Will need to come back! So much characte
Coolest little gem of Montreal! Great brew on tap & 2.5 oyster 🦪
Super friendly hosts! Can't wait to come back 😌
Amazing place. Great food. Would recommend the Caesar salad. The owner gave me & my friends drinks on him. Was very nice.
Stopped by for Happy Hour with some friends via a reservation made a few hours in advance. Our waiter was attentive to our needs & took the time to answer our questions as it was our first visit. Overall, quick service, fresh oysters & love the rustic bar décor! Left with happy smiles & will be back soon. Highly recommend!
I came here excited to spend time with friends, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. The waitress was extremely rude & condescending throughout the checkout process. We asked to split the bill (which is a very normal request), but instead of helping us, she rolled her eyes, gave attitude, & acted as if we were a burden. Even when I offered to make it easier by writing down what each person ordered, she dismissed me & was like'No, it will be okay', while rolling her eyes again.
It wasn't just one mistake - she got the bill wrong multiple times, & each time her attitude got worse. By the end, it felt like she wanted us gone rather than treating us like paying customers.
The food itself was fine, but the service was so unprofessional that this will be my first & last visit. Restaurants should be about hospitality, & this was the complete opposite.
Perhaps the waitress was having a bad day, but my friend told me she came here the other night, & she had the same attitude. This is unacceptable!
Came here with some friends & the ambiance was excellent! Kaitlyn made sure we had everything we needed all night. Definitely recommend, will be back!
Delicious oysters, amazing fries & an elaborate wine list! This restaurant serves beautiful small plates in a cocktail bar setting featuring moody chandeliers, fun decor & a bustling, noisy ambiance.
Mackerel spead was delicious. We also enjoyed oysters & whelks. The staff was super friendly.
The food was cooked to perfection, & the service was both friendly & fast.
The minute you step into the restaurant your eyes are taken on a wild adventure. Every corner has its set of knickknacks & decor. The staff is on point & friendly. If you can, sit at the oyster bar with Raf. It's tapas style eating & every dish was well crafted & had its unique flavors. Oysters were perfectly shucked, fresh & delicious. Forget the Tabasco, they have their own house sauce. All & all great ambiance, fun night out with friends.
really enjoyed the experience & food was more than perfect. Will be back to show friends
I've been coming here for years for the oysters, whelks, & natural wine, especially the Cantillon lambic, which is tough to find in Montreal. The vibe is warm, the service friendly & down-to-earth. It's one of our go-to spots for starting or ending a date night, & always a great midweek hangout with friends. Definitely worth a visit!
Majestique - A Plateau Gem for Oyster & Natural Wine Lovers
Majestique is hands down my favorite spot on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, right in the heart of the vibrant Plateau Mont-Royal. This lively, always-buzzing restaurant strikes the perfect balance between casual charm & refined taste. From the moment you walk in, the eccentric yet meticulously curated décor draws you in - it's an interior worth seeing in itself.
The staff are consistently friendly, upbeat, & efficient, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed & energetic. The highlight? Their oysters - fresh, briny, & impeccably shucked. Pair them with their rotating selection of natural wines, & you've got a memorable evening ahead. The menu is inventive & rooted in local flavors, often with a playful twist that reflects the restaurant's fun-loving spirit.
During summer, the outdoor terrace adds even more magic to the experience. That said, reservations are highly recommended - this place fills up fast, especially on weekends.
Whether you're going for a date night, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself, Majestique delivers a unique Montreal dining experience that's equal parts style & substance. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the Plateau's culinary soul.
A great spot to hang out with friends. Staff are friendly but they are very busy. & with that reason I feel food is a little slow but still acceptable. Food are over average. If you want to come here for dinner make sure to make a reservation so you don't get disappointed.
Good wine collection, a cozy place to chill. Usually very busy during the weekend.
I like this place & I usually take my friends who are visiting montreal there to chill & have a conversation over a drink .
Food was amazing. Had happy hour oysters for $2.50 per & the chicken liver. The presentation of the oysters was super cool. The chicken liver was incredible! Very friendly service & would be a fun place to be at busier time. Great gem here in Montreal.
