Got there on a Tuesday night after drinks, we arrived around 11pm.
We we're looking for quick food & had great experiences in the past.
Took us some time to be acknowledged at the door even though the room wasn't full at all.
Menus were given quick & same thing for water glasses.
We ordered three things, the salad, the fries & the octopus.
The salad was good, great flavours but a bit too sweet, missing some acidity.
The fries are great, feels like I was in a joint in Belgium.
As for the octopus, we waited 40 minutes before the server asked us if we wanted the bill, even though we didn't receive our dish.
No sorry whatsoever, no acknowledgement of his mistake at all.
Had to wait another 25 minutes before we received the dish.
The base was delicious, perfectly seasoned.
The octopus itself was perfectly cooked, super soft & not at all chewy but only half of it because the rest was overly charred & not fun to chew on.
The size was also ridiculously small for the price of it.
When the bill was brought to our place, again, no excuses for the wait or acknowledgement of the situation, at all.
Overall cool spot, great food, but the service lack.
A good establishment should take pride in it's service before anything else.
My boyfriend & I visited Montreal & came here every night for dinner & ordered the same thing-Hugo spritz, duck confit, Caesar salad, & the focaccia. Everything was amazing every time, service is fast & friendly. The atmosphere & look of everything is incredible.
We went here twice while visiting Montreal, once for happy hour oysters & once for drinks later in the evening. the oysters were good, & the drinks were superb. Staff was very nice & friendly, they also discussed & hand wrote a list of suggested bars around montreal for us to go to. Really great bar!
2026: just came here for drinks. The Ascendant Gémeaux was a nice strawberry cocktail. I enjoyed my oyster martini, was a good deal. Pleasant, efficient service.
2025: Great mix of different decades of retro music for most of the night, until they decided to make it exclusively Québécois pop, like just mix it in...
Lamb brochettes, steak frites, loaded clams, pork flank, & banana cake were all delicious. The fries of the steak frites could be better though.
The parfait was disappointing as the crispy bits just weren't crispy, tasted like they had spent too much time in the fridge & got softened by the humidity. The suggested cocktail pairing was perfect though.
Wine suggestions from the server worked very well. The chartreuse cocktail & the amaro cocktail were both well balanced.
If you're gonna have single door washrooms, they should just be unisex so everyone can use them.
My friends & I split the lobster spaghetti, the Caesar salad & the duck risotto - everything was so delicious. The duck risotto was my favourite but my friends LOVED the Caesar salad. We had such a nice time & the service was amazing. Such beautiful ambiance too!!
Can I give it six stars? The food was amazing. I've never had so many memorable dishes at one meal! Fresh oysters from the maritimes. Wonderful scallops! A delicious bison tartare. & a whelk dish that introduced me to flavors I don't think I've ever experienced before! & don't skip dessert!
Staff was friendly & helpful, in a fun, vibrant atmosphere, with eclectic decor. An outdoor patio on a major Plateau thoroughfare provides ample people watching opportunities occasionally punctuated by an obnoxious exhaust, but connection to the area.
I can't wait to return!
Me & some friends from NY stopped here for Sunday night dinner & had a great time. Food service & drinks are top notch. Fun & lively atmosphere, charming decor. Shout out to the lovely Emily who waited on us.
