Group of four on a Saturday evening, we had reservations at 5.30pm as it was the only available time so think ahead if you want to go on a weekend evening. Warm welcome on arrival & seated promptly near the bar. The layout is narrow & deep with a bar on one side & open kitchen at the back. Apps were good, we had the oysters to start, gf had ceviche which was the best starter of the group. My tuna tartare was good as well. Mains were also very good, fish & beef jowls were excellent. Amongst the best restaurants in town! Excellent service, amazing food & reasonable prices. Good winelist as well. Good vibe at night without being too loud.

Back here now 10 times since the last review. Hands down our favourite restaurant in Montreal. Food is incredible, great vibe. Kitchen is a marvel to watch as they prepare food. It does not matter which dish you try, they are all impeccable. Always have the fish of the week/day, which was a masterpiece. Choice of wine & service is 10/10.

Wow a true 10/10 in every ways. Top 5 places in Montreal for sure. Food exceptional. Wine amazing. Service super super. Wow. Kudos to the owners. Rare find.
Two absolute highlight dishes were the halibut entrée & the maple Square dessert. As an octopus lover, I ordered it also but found it mediocre. Overall, everything that was recommended to us was divine & our service was excellent. We sat at the counter & it was a totally suitable dining environment for two - good for being conversational with the staff even. High-quality wine list.
One of the best customer services I have had in Montreal! Too bad we did not ask his name, but he was very kind & knowledgeable for the drinks & the dishes. All of his recommendations were on point! (All of their wine recommendations indeed satisfied all of us!).
Oysters were not only fresh but it was also quite chunky 😋. I really recommend grilled octopus too! It was soft & seasoned very well. All the main dishes we had was super tasty too.
Lastly, you cannot not take the famous maple square! It was perfect to end our course 😁
Overall, it was 10 out of 10! We all really loved the vibe of the restaurant. I really liked that it was not too loud(probably we were the loudest table idk😅), & just by the fact the how good customer service it was, it is definitely worth to try!
The experience at Le Filet was overall good but a little bit underwhelming. The decor is not extremely arranged, it looks pretty simple even if overall is stylish, the staff is nice but on of the waiter a little bit too nosy & pretentious with a patronizing vibe. The food is good but I liked more the started than the main course, tuna tataki vs pork with scallops. Overall we paid around 340 cad (taxes & tips included) for two courses each, a shared dessert & a bottle of red wine, too expensive afor the experience we had but still a nice restaurant.

Absolutely loved the food here & they had a large selection of wine as well. Our group of six spent about $2,000 altogether with three bottles of wine which we thought was very much worth the price for the taste, portions (we ordered about three of each dish/app), quality, & service!
Delicious meal, attentive service, perfect wine recommendation. A delightful evening, highly recommended. Thanks to the exquisite team for a memorable night!
Excellente nourriture, préparée avec soin. Belle fraîcheur des aliments, belle sélection de vins au verre. Je recommande fortement le boeuf, les travers de porc, ris de veau. Pour la morue, j'en ai mangé de la meilleure ailleurs. Très fraîche par contre. Je trouvais qu'il manquait un peu d'accompagnement, de petits légumes.. ou bien les portions pourraient être un peu plus généreuses pour le prix que l'on paie.
Gros bémol : le service. D'une froideur rarement vue ! Quelque peu snob même ! Comme si le personnel avait mieux à faire, ou comme si on était pas vraiment important, peu de sourire. Pourtant, c'est ce qui fait que l'on retourne à un restaurant... & malheureusement, je ne sais pas si j'y retournerais.
Excellent food but very cold service !
Great selection of wine glasses, food is fresh. I recommend the beef, pork flank, sweetbread. For the cod, I've tasted some tastier than this, though very fresh. There could be a bit more vedgetables for the garnish or bigger portions for the price.
Big negative point : the service. Cold as you've rarely seen it ! A bit snobish too. As if the personal had more important things to do or as if we weren't important at all, lack of smiles too.. But this is why we go back to a restaurant, no ? We go to a restaurant for the food & the experience but we go back for the service. It's not like Montreal doesn't have a lot of good restaurants... Don't know if I'll be going back.
