Le Filet completely impressed us. From the moment we walked in, Jesse at the host stand was warm, polished, & welcoming, & Guillaume gave us exceptional service all evening. The food was outstanding - beautifully plated, creative, & full of flavor. Every dish felt refined & memorable, from the delicate crudo to the perfectly executed seafood & the rich truffle pasta. Even dessert was stunning. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, making it perfect for a special night out. Truly one of the best dining experiences we've had in Montreal. Highly recommend.
What a gem of a restaurant. The meal was one of the best I've had in years (fish of the day & the maple dessert were standouts) & the service was excellent throughout. Special thanks to Sarah who was knowledgeable & delightful in equal measure.

A great night out. We had their oysters as a starter - 3 different kinds. Plain, crackling maple & miso au gratin, & it was hard to decide which were the best. Then we shared an off-menu plate of gnocchi that was to die for. For main courses I had an Icelandic cod with truffles that was incredible & my partner had a melt-in-your mouth beef cheek. Dessert was a delicious maple square.
They don't advertise much as it seems they have enough of a loyal following to stay busy every night & to catch the attention of Michelin.
TLDR: Cozy & delicious, but not really for celebrations.
It's a cozy bar/resto combo with great food. Maybe I've been spoiled in Dubai but the value wasn't quite there for me here unfortunately. Nearly 500$ for 4, split appetizers & desserts, 1 main 1 drink each.
Some context: I left a special note to them in advance for my dads 45y retirement celebration; we got an underwhelming sprinkler candle at the end that was over before we could even record, so I had to somewhat awkwardly ask for another. No quick celebration music, no singing, no complimentary drink or treat, just 15 seconds of small sparkles 🤷🏼?♂?
I take responsibility, but I fear the experience may not be very memorable for my dad.
Also not the venues fault, but note the road is trashed in front until it eventually gets fixed you'll have to park further & walk on icy/slushy sidewalks for blocks.
Nonetheless thank you to the friendly staff & delicious food, we enjoyed it 🙏🏼
Le Filet is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Montreal. The service was attentive & thoughtful from start to finish, & the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale & inviting.
If you're a seafood lover, this place is a must. Every dish we tried was incredibly well-executed - light, delicate, & bursting with flavor. You can really taste the care & creativity in each bite.
Pro tip: come hungry, aim for the fish, & definitely leave room for dessert. Trust me - it's worth it.
Highly recommended for a special night out or anyone looking to truly savor the best of what Montreal's culinary scene has to offer.
Two absolute highlight dishes were the halibut entrée & the maple Square dessert. As an octopus lover, I ordered it also but found it mediocre. Overall, everything that was recommended to us was divine & our service was excellent. We sat at the counter & it was a totally suitable dining environment for two - good for being conversational with the staff even. High-quality wine list.
Really great. Fast, friendly service. All four appetizers were wonderful: tuna tartare, smoked salmon, yellow tail & octopus. We loved our squid ink pasta & fish specials. Excellent maple square dessert. Top ten Montreal dining experience.

Finally had the chance to try the famous restaurant where you go after your tennis session. It is also a place I highly recommend if your looking for the best service in town & the best variety of fancy plates. Going there, we tried a lot of what is offered on the menu. To start, we ordered the miso gratin oysters. These are one the best things I tried in my life. It is a perfect combination of sweet & sea taste. After, we tried the cold corn soup with foie gras. It was very unctuous & fresh. We then ordered the octopus plate & the wagyu tataki. The octopus was not to squeaky & not to hard, perfectly smooth when we bit it. The wagyu was nothing to special but it was well cooked (medium rare). Moreover, we ordered the linguine plate, the lobster pastas plate & the gemilli pastas plate. All three were amazing. The linguine plate was not as good as the Daily catch restaurant do it but take it if you're an amateur with this kind of plate. I didn't really taste the lobster in the pastas but the sweetbreads that comes with it are my second favorite thing I ate between all the plates we ordered. The veel cheek that came with the gemelli pastas was very tender & tasty. Finally, I tried the maple syrup square as dessert. It was very simple but very comforting & not to heavy.
J'étais tres impatiente d'essayer ce restaurant & je dois admettre que ça m'a dessus... - javais encore faim apres avoir mangé entrée + main + dessert tellement que les portions étaient petites. Par contre les saveur étaient la & les plats que nous avons gouté etaient vraiment bons. - on s'est senti snobé par le serveur qui etait visiblement plus focusé a servir la table de filles d'à côté. Meme si il a donné de bonnes recommendations pour le vin, il s'est presque servi un verre plein pour goûter. Qu'il s'est tranquillement siroter pendant le service... - & la salle etait quand même assez bruillante, difficile d'apprécier une repas romantique. Conclusion: pour ce type de budget, vous pouvez trouver de boen meilleure restaurant qui ne vous decevront pas.
The experience at Le Filet was overall good but a little bit underwhelming. The decor is not extremely arranged, it looks pretty simple even if overall is stylish, the staff is nice but on of the waiter a little bit too nosy & pretentious with a patronizing vibe. The food is good but I liked more the started than the main course, tuna tataki vs pork with scallops. Overall we paid around 340 cad (taxes & tips included) for two courses each, a shared dessert & a bottle of red wine, too expensive afor the experience we had but still a nice restaurant.
Decent food overall. The oysters are exceptional. Main dishes are not perfect: cod is kind of bland while a bit overly peppered. Desserts & cocktails are delightful.

Décevant ... De passage à Montréal & fins gourmets, nous avions lu beaucoup de critiques élogieuses de ce restaurant à la cuisine atypique & épurée.
Le cadre est tout à fait intimiste & chic, malgré quelques incohérences de style entre la déco, le site & la présentation des plats.
Au premier abord, c'est un service très chaleureux & souriant (trop). Nous avons commandé deux cocktails, à notre goût un peu mal dosés & très peu généreux (etait-ce mon expérience en bar qui parlait ?).
Lorsque les plats sont arrivés, quelle déception de trouver une cuisine peu généreuse à son tour, mais surtout trop salée, croulante de sauce. Les aliments ne se marient pas en bouche, du moins pas comme nous l'attendions d'un restaurant de ce standing & à ces prix là. C'est une cuisine simple, amateure, que l'on peut trouver à de meilleurs prix. Concernant le dessert, ce fut une déception également concernant une assiette trop sucrée, terne en saveurs & en couleurs.
Nous n'avons pour finir pas apprécié l'attitude de notre serveur qui, pourtant très mielleux & souriant au départ, s'est vite empressé de terminer notre service (après pourtant 45 min d'attente en premier lieu pour les plats), lorsqu'il a remarqué que nous parlions entre nous, & discrètement bien évidemment, de la cuisine & des méthodes utilisées.
Une addition totale à plus de 150$ qui les vaudraient ailleurs ...
I have been to this restaurant twice (once for business & once for pleasure) & both times were excellent! The dishes are inventive, fun, & delicious; the staff is knowledgeable, courteous, & attentive. The portion sizes are just right for sharing. The desserts have not been overlooked & feature the interesting combinations that you will find in the rest of the menu. The location is great - right across from the park - & the view is nice. I would highly recommend it!
