Used to be a regular there (at least once a week). Very disappointed with both the service & the food today. Was told they were quite busy & our food would take 30 mins. We agreed. It took over an hour to get our food. The French server (didn't get her name) was unfriendly, offputting & looked overwhelmed. My dish (canton) arrived burnt in the skillet. Maybe it was just a bad day at the restaurant - I'll give it one more try otherwise I'll just go somewhere else going forward.Voir plus

Great atmosphere, super friendly staff that was clear about setting expectations (kitchen was short staffed so food took longer than usual). The scrambled eggs with asparagus & goat cheese was outstanding.Voir plus

Nous avons pris les oeufs bénédictines aux canards. C'était bon, mais les grosses patates coupées en deux étaient mal cuites & peu savoureuses. Les portions de canards étaient petites pour le prix payé. La tasse de cappuccino est petite. Donc 2 assiettes, 2 cafés avec taxes & pourboire : 83$...Voir plus

Quelle ambiance ! J'ai adoré le brunch partagé avec ma famille sur la terrasse de cet endroit! La journée était parfaite & l nourriture excellente ! Nous sommes arrivés vers 11h du matin, en été, un samedi, & pas d'attente & un service courtois & complet. I've been visiting Le Cartet for years, often choosing it for brunch or lunch due to its proximity to my office. It used to be a reliable spot with good food & coffee. However, my recent experiences have been disappointing.
On my latest visit, I ordered a salmon bagel, expecting a satisfying meal. Instead, I received a dry bagel with four minuscule slices of salmon( about 20g ) & a smear of cream cheese. This underwhelming dish cost me $20 before tax. Adding two lemonades & a coffee brought my total to $58, excluding tax & tip. For such a price, the portion & quality were unacceptable.
While the staff remains friendly & welcoming, providing service with a smile, it doesn't compensate for the declining food quality & inflated prices. It's disheartening to see a place that once offered value & quality now fall short on both fronts.
In the past, dishes like Le Canton were enjoyable, but given the recent downturn, I'm hesitant to return. It's unfortunate to witness such a decline in a place that once held promise.Voir plus

Fortunately, it still tastes the same as I remember. The moment I took a bite, the unchanging deliciousness was a warm & reassuring presence in this unpredictable era.(May 2025)
In the restaurant, the sense of touch, vision, taste, & smell are all labeled with elegance. There is both a sense of formal ritual & a psychological comfort zone. The food tastes great!
The dish'canton' is great, with large pieces of meat filling the bottom of the pot, which is absolutely full. The duck Benedict is a little sweet because of the caramelized red onions. If you are not used to it, be mindful!
Reservations are not available on weekends, you can only queue up. Arrive before 11 am & there will be a seat. Possibly queue up after that.(2024)Voir plus

This cozy brunch spot was a delight! We had no trouble getting a table around 10:30/11 on a Sunday, & the service was so warm & welcoming. The eggs benny (with duck) & Santé were absolutely delicious with good portions.
The pancakes we ordered as a side, unfortunately, didn't live up to the rest of the meal-they were a bit dry & thin, & it was a bummer to pay extra for maple syrup & berry coulis.
However, the homemade lemonade & blood orange mimosa were delicious.
