Review Summary

Kan Bei is widely regarded as a standout destination in downtown Montreal for authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine, particularly its Sichuan dishes. Diners frequently praise the bold, well-balanced flavors, the generous portions, and the quality of freshly prepared meals like the poached fish, mapo tofu, and sautéed cabbage. While some visitors find the pricing a bit high or notice variations in portion size and pacing, the majority of the experiences highlight efficient, friendly service and a welcoming, clean atmosphere. With its diverse menu catering to both those seeking classic favorites and authentic regional specialties, the restaurant is consistently recommended as a top choice for a satisfying meal.

The food is decent, but some are good. The average price $30 for Lunch too expensive for an average worker.

The waitress there are very kind.

I really love this place. Best Chinese spot in downtown Montreal. & it's accessible no matter your palate for Chinese. If you're just a General Tao's chicken kind of person- it's good here. If you're looking for some authentic Chinese flavor- you can find that here too. Personally I love the salt & pepper fried shrimp & cumin beef, amazing flavors. Family run & everything made piping hot to order. Best pregame or preconcert secret while everyone else seems to be at La Cage or La Belle & La Boeuf!
