My friends & I found this spot as it was conveniently located near Bell Centre, & near our hotel. We walked in, didn't require any reservations & was immediately seated.
We ordered the chilli chicken, the spicy calamari, & the house special. Personally, the calamari was very chewy so I'm not sure if that's how it should have been. I've had tons of calamari before, & this was the first time I actually didn't finish it. The chilli chicken didn't really have much spice & the special rice didn't seem like fried rice for me. Flavour was OK
Service was nice & quick, & the place was convenient. Would visit again for a quick meal.
I would just see that when I walked in with my friends there was no one literally within five minutes it filled up.
Used to live in Chongqing & have been craving proper Sichuan food since there's a serious lack of good Chinese food in Québec City. I got the fish soup, extra spicy & green beans with white rice, 100% satisfied.
Kan Bei is a fantastic spot for authentic & flavorful Chinese food! The portions are generous, the presentation is beautiful, & the taste is absolutely delicious. We tried the crispy noodles with shrimp & vegetables - the shrimp were fresh & juicy, the veggies perfectly cooked, & the sauce tied everything together with amazing flavor & texture.
We also had the Kung Pao-style dish with rice, & it was packed with flavor - tender bites, crunchy peanuts, & just the right balance of sweet & spicy. Every bite felt fresh & satisfying.
The service was friendly & quick, & the atmosphere is warm & inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Definitely one of the best spots in the area for authentic Chinese cuisine.
Food was very good, better quality than several places I've been to. Good service, the general Tau chicken was a great big portion, not just 5 or 6 pieces with a pile of rice & the wonton soup was just what wonton soup should be. Yum! Good service, nice place, affordable.
Kan bei is THE BEST chinese restaurant I've been to in the one year that I've been living in Montreal. we ordered the chicken fried rice (#809) beef with satay sauce (#315) stir fried shrimps, spring roles & shrimp soup. All of them were absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again. If you're looking for good portions, great prices, & a succulent chinese meal, Kan bei is the right place for you.
Small restaurant but lots of space & large tables. Very clean. Service was fast, attentive & friendly, food is cooked to order & served quickly. We had the fried pork spare ribs, general Tsao chicken, baby bok Choy with garlic, shrimp fried rice & shrimp wonton soup. The soup was very nice, with a delicate broth & generous wonton & bok Choy. Both main meat dishes were amazing with lovely seasoning. The garlic bok Choy just went WOW it was that good. The rice was very nice & cooked to perfection.
