Review Summary

Jun I is widely recognized as a premier destination for high-quality sushi in Montreal, celebrated for its fresh ingredients, artistic presentation, and attentive service. Many diners praise the Omakase experience and specialty rolls, noting that the sophisticated flavors and unique textures justify the premium price for special occasions. While the vast majority of guests describe their visits as exceptional and memorable, some recent reviews point to inconsistencies in food quality, slower service intervals, and a perceived decline in ambiance. Despite mixed feedback regarding pacing and pricing, the restaurant remains a top recommendation for those seeking an elevated and authentic Japanese dining experience in the city.

The service is top notch. I had the omakase & the sashimi platter did not disappoint. Might be the first time I enjoyed all fishes (even the ones with the names we keep forgetting) The closest to Japan I've tasted in Montreal. Definitely recommended!

Fish is consistently top 3 in Montreal. Maki/nigiri/sashimi always solid. Ambiance & service have declined post pandemic. No sushi bar anymore significantly hurts the ambiance.

Loved my experience here! Some of the sashimis we tried were amazing, & the nigiris were just as good. Everything was super delicious overall.

I personally found the Kani Age Épicé a little too salty & didn't need the extra sauce. The uni (sea urchin) was a little too overpowered by the rice but it was still fresh overall. The dancing unagi roll was superb as well.

However, the following two were the stars of this night for me. We ordered hamachi sashimi. This was as good as it can get for the city amongst all the other sushi options we have. 😊 Sitting along side the Hamachi was the Maguro Taru-Taru which we ordered as an appetizer. We collectively agreed that it was our favourite dish of the night!

We went here for lunch. We only ordered sushi rolls & sashimi & honestly it was fantastic. Some of the best sushi I've had in Montreal. Service was excellent as well. Will definitely be back!
