Nous sommes en visite de Toronto & notre amie nous a emmenés essayer Janine pour le brunch un dimanche. Nous avions fait une réservation en ligne, mais en arrivant au restaurant, on nous a dit qu'elle n'était pas valide. Ils ont mentionné que le système n'aurait pas dû lui permettre de réserver & on nous a demandé d'attendre. Ce n'est vraiment pas juste pour les clients. On aurait dû être priorisés comparé à ceux sans réservation. En plus, on a dû attendre dehors en pleine chaleur avec un bébé. C'est pour ça qu'on retire une étoile à notre évaluation.
Par contre, une fois assis, tout s'est super bien passé. La bouffe, les drinks & le service étaient excellents. Notre serveur connaissait vraiment bien le menu & nous a recommandé la spécialité du jour : du canard avec des oeufs pochés. C'était savoureux & on a adoré ! Les plats & les boissons sont arrivés rapidement.

We are visiting from Toronto & our friend brought us to try Janine for brunch on a Sunday. We made a reservation online. But when we reached the restaurant they did not honour the reservation. They said the system should not have allowed her to make the reservation & we were asked to wait. This is not fair to the customer & we should have been given priority over those who did not make a reservation. We were made to wait outside in the heat with a baby. This is why we have taken off 1 star on the review.
Once we were seated, the food, drinks & service were really good. Our server was very informative & we chose the special of the day based on his recommendation which was duck meat with poached eggs. It was delicious & we enjoyed it! Our drinks & food came out in a timely manner.View more

Really cool interior decor, expect a 40 minute wait on weekends. Latkes, chic croissants, scotch egg, latte / tumeric latte, avocado toast was okay. Mushroom toast & fruits brioche was pretty good. Egg & beef benedict was really good. Should try the chicken waffle next timeView more

Good afternoon! I had a hard time deciding on what to order & finally opted for the French toast. Little did I know that it consisted of 2 thick slices of bread so I took it slowly. The syrup was just right but after a while, I was already filled. Black coffee came to the rescue. No complaints. Food & service were superb. I did tell my 2 boys to visit this place.
