Janine Café-Brunch is widely regarded as a standout destination for brunch in Montreal, celebrated for its unique and creative menu, generous portions, and beautifully presented dishes. Guests consistently praise the exceptional service, noting that the staff is professional, attentive, and frequently goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The restaurant features a charming, chic, and cozy decor that provides an inviting atmosphere, though it can become quite lively and busy. While there is often a wait, particularly on weekends, visitors frequently describe the experience as well worth the time, noting that the restaurant is highly welcoming to families and offers many vegetarian options. Highlights often include the carrot cake, cinnamon brioche, and signature savory items like the Champi and Latkes, making it a highly recommended spot for those seeking an elevated and satisfying breakfast.
I honestly don't understand the hype around this place.
The food was very average & there was nothing memorable about it. While the beef was tender, it became overly rich after just a few bites & I quickly lost my appetite. The cake was also brought out before our brunch, which made no sense.
The service was even more disappointing. Throughout our meal, not a single staff member came by our table to check on us. The table was tiny, so once we finished our main dishes, the cake was left squeezed between our dirty plates. My mother had to wave someone down before anyone finally came to clear the table.
Despite receiving virtually no service, we were still charged an 18% tip at checkout. Paying that much for such poor service was honestly ridiculous.
I even took a taxi specifically to try this restaurant because of all the positive reviews, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. It simply wasn't worth the trip, the money, or the time. I definitely won't be coming back.
We just left there. I had grilled cheese with duck, oj & brioche cinnamon.
The sammy was on a blueish color bread lol which was different. The sandwhich was really good, crispy, a bit sweet a bit salty. It was very good. The potatoes were also good, butter steak spices & potato. Cant go wrong.
The cinnamon brioche was so softy fluffly & tasty. Really enjoyed the meal & the service was great.
My son had the latkes & said they were very tasty. Btw the carrot cake is absolutely huge. I really liked the carrot cake my son said its good but he had better.
Thanks

What a magic experience we had this Sunday
The little juice of the day to start , the coffee, the food , the carrot cake & the amazing smiles
Everything was spot on .
Very happy with our first time
I recommend 100%
Went here last weekend! If you're planning to go for brunch, expect a 20-40 min wait, but it's totally worth it. They welcomed us with a small juice sample(so good!!!). We ordered the Champi (mushrooms on toast) & it was AMAZING, highly recommend. For dessert, we shared a carrot cake & loved it. The staff was super nice. Definitely recommend!
What a wonderful cozy intimate & gorgeous brunch cafe in Verdun! Our friends group decided to meet there & we were super impressed with the cozy decor of the cafe ❤?❤? I had the Toast Avocat while my friends had Chic Croissant & Champi along with coffee & let me tell you - from the way the food was presented to the taste everything was just perfect 😇😇 So so delicious & our full compliments to the chef 🙏🙏 The staff is also very gracious, welcoming, & always ready to answer any questions ! We would like to give a shout out to Janique as she was very attentive & always on her feet 🙏🙏 At some point we were also given fruit punch/ fruit shots made of ginger, beet, orange & it was very very good 😇😇 However, anyone who comes here must must try their Carrot Cake! We got ours to go as we were running out of time but we definitely opened the box & once I actually ate it at home, each bite was a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? A heavenly bliss !! Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu 🎉🎉Cannot recommend this 11/10 brunch cafe enough to anyone who wants to relax with family & friends & get the best service & food at the venue 😇😇
L'un des meilleurs brunchs de Montréal. Service toujours impeccable.
I had mushroom toast dish with scutch egg which was not valued 32 CaD at all! I did not like the taste of potato & mushrooms.
I had a carrot cake which was great!
