Janine Café-Brunch earns praise for generous portions, creative dishes, and consistently attentive service in a chic, cozy setting. The menu offers a mix of comforting and inventive options, with standouts such as latkes, mushroom dishes, and eggs and beef, plus a croque monsieur that many find satisfying, all complemented by a welcome juice on arrival and friendly staff. Weekend crowds and lines are common, but guests say the flavorful food, high-quality ingredients, and warm atmosphere make the wait worthwhile and invite return visits for more variety. Overall, Janine Café-Brunch is a top Montreal brunch spot for a relaxed, delicious meal with friends and family.
Amazing breakfast! I had the Latkes & my friend had the avocado toast. Both were delicious! Our waitress Anis was kind & thoughtful. Highly recommend. Ps get there early, there is a lineup & we know why!
Fantastic breakfast/brunch spot. The avocado toast with an egg was fantastic & the cinnamon roll with chocolate sauce was divine. We had excellent service & we were glad to be able to relax & chat for a calm morning in Montreal.
We stopped for breakfast after a doctor's appointment & really enjoyed it! The place was cozy, the food was tasty, & it was so nice to share it with my lovely friend.
This place makes me love breakfast, everything from the service food atmosphere clean place it is a fancy little restaurant that make me feel I am in Paris again. We will go back many times again thank you 😊
New coffee lover here but trained for years. I stayed in MTL for 2 months & tried many café. I almost always get Flat White to test the coffee without too much milk. This is a brunch place I first time for my bday breakfast & second time with girl-brunch.
Vibe: Fantastic elegant place for breakfast. A must go place if you visit MTL, I was lucky to live in Verdun to be able to get seats early in the morning. Wifi is well. Family friendly so much especially during wknds. Prob not a good idea to work there especially wknds too. The Wednesday I went was pretty available.
Coffee & food: Coffee is quite normal, standard. It's very strong but not burnt. Not too creamy & chocolatey.
Service: Amazing. Everyone works hard & knows what they are doing. They are very friendly & peaceful at the same time.

Janine's is definitely not like any cookie-cutter chain breakfast place that you might be used to. Dishes are very original, generous & flavorful. Service was excellent & attentive (we dined as a group on a weekday). The restaurant itself is eclectic in both decor & food & I highly recommend the experience.
One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. Certainly in my top 3 at the time of writing. Amazing croissants & incredible jam. I cannot recommend this spot strongly enough.
A friend & I hadn't seen each other for a few years & we met at this restaurant for brunch. The waitress was very enthusiastic. Although we didn't want to be disturbed from time to time, we still responded to her every time. We stayed in there for four hours, & we kept ordering food & drinks. The restaurant was not full, & there were still empty seats on a Wednesday morning. It seemed that they thought we were sitting too long & often asked if Liao needed anything. The last breakfast cost more than $50, which seemed a bit too much. As for the dishes, it was not as delicious as expected. The main course included fried eggs. If it was changed to Irish eggs, it would cost eight dollars. It felt like I saved a dollar, but after careful consideration, the boss saved two eggs.
Well worth the wait! Wow very fun breakfast menu options. Perfectly cooked eggs & something for everyone. You get so much in your plate. I want to go back & try everything!! **Definitely go during the week day to skip the line that wraps around the front door.
