At Janette's Caribbean Island, Raj was kind enough to offer my friend & I to try a fried dumpling with our chicken roti order. Both were delicious. We will definitely be going there again for more roti & to try other meals from the menu. Besides the tasty food, the service was excellent & Raj was friends & inviting.

I was visiting Janette as first timer,I had a chicken roti & 2 beef patties ..Its without a doubt the best I have ever had.Its a hidden gem & will definitely be back..Super nice staff.Cant wait to try everything they make..

As a person who loves food & was blessed with the BEST wife & in-laws a spouse could have who happen to be Jamaican, I was gifted with their delicious food as well! Suffice to say, it *was* very difficult to experience such culinary deluciousness unless either they cooked some, or I went to a resto in LaSalle. Well, I certainly won't have to go that far anymore since they brought me some AMAZING curry chicken rôti takeout today & I will be coming back myself to taste more of their incredible recipes!

Best Caribbean food in the West Island, if not the whole island of Montreal.
We had the jerk chicken & beef roti - everything was perfectly cooked & bursting with flavor.
The plantains were sweet & moist (just wish there was more of them as a side!).
The rice was so good, it didn't even need gravy or extra seasoning - we literally finished our containers spotless.

The lamb roti was good but not great because it didn't have enough meat compared to the amount of potatoes, & the roti was huge, making it hard to eat. The service was a bit odd & slow. This is not a restaurant where you can dine in; they literally have a window where they hand out food, so only takeout is available. Prices are okay.
Best. Goat. Rôti. Ever. Asked for mine to be prepared extra spicy - done to perfection. No need to fly to Kingston, Tortola, or Port of Spain any longer... 😁

Janette's isn't just a restaurant; it's a hidden treasure bursting with flavor & charm. Have you ever heard of spinners in oxtail? It's unheard of here in Montreal, & it's a game-changer. & let's talk about their Jerk chicken-it actually tastes like it's been kissed by the fire, giving it that authentic, smoky flavor that's simply irresistible. Their curry goat is some of the best I've tasted, & they don't skimp on portions. It's spicy, flavorful, & everything you could want in a curry. Plus, they offer boneless goat roti for those looking for an easy-to-eat goat experience. Both the white rice & rice & peas are cooked to perfection, & you'll even get a fried dumpling with your meal-which, by the way, are absolutely fantastic. I always find myself wishing for just one more. Last but not least, their homemade pepper sauce is out of this world. I can't get enough, & they seriously need to bottle this stuff! What a hidden gem this is! The food is absolutely delicious (had the beef roti & jerk chicken). Everything was super flavourful & had the perfect spice level. Will definitely be back again!
Delicious! Scrumptious! Fire🔥🔥jerk chicken,curry goat,oxtail,rice & peas, plantain, fried dumplings!!! Everything seasoned, cooked to perfection!!! Can't wait to try the roti, snapper & Ackee & saltfish & patties, almost forgot the patties. Will be special ordering for the family asap!
