This meal hits every note perfectly. The jerk chicken is packed with flavour, tender, & has that authentic smoky char that makes each bite addictive. Portions are generous, everything tastes homemade, & the quality is consistent. Easily one of the most satisfying Jamaican meals around.

Came to Montreal on a whim & I always enjoy finding where the locals eat. Stumbled upon Janette's Spicy Caribbean while deep diving in the Reddit threads. Holy smokes. This might have been the best place I ate at while in Montreal (& I ate at a lot of places). The curried goat was cooked fresh to order & brilliantly spiced. Beef patties were equally excellent. Honestly, the food here was better than some of the meals I had in Jamaica. Staff were extremely friendly & hospitable. They were amused that the first place I visited after having stepped off the plane from Denver, CO was their little establishment. Who would've thought that Jamaican cuisine would be the best thing in Montreal? Do yourself a favor & visit. I promise it will be worth the detour!
As a person who loves food & was blessed with the BEST wife & in-laws a spouse could have who happen to be Jamaican, I was gifted with their delicious food as well! Suffice to say, it *was* very difficult to experience such culinary deluciousness unless either they cooked some, or I went to a resto in LaSalle. Well, I certainly won't have to go that far anymore since they brought me some AMAZING curry chicken rôti takeout today & I will be coming back myself to taste more of their incredible recipes!
Amazing food served by wonderful people! Raj is an excellent cook & I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some good authentic Jamaican cuisine!
Hidden gem take out window. The goat curry, plantains, & Jamaican patty were exactly what we wanted. We waiting about 20 mins for our food & they recommended calling in your order ahead in case they were busier. Definitely check it out.

Absolutely loved this Jamaican spot! The staff were super nice-welcoming, helpful, & made the whole experience feel like home. & the food? So tasty! Everything was full of flavor & cooked to perfection. I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
This was my first time trying Jamaican food & it definitely won't be my last. As a start the service was incredible, you can really tell the people there had a passion for what they did & it really showed in the food. The chicken was juicy, tender, smoky, spicy, & everything you'd want. The amount of food you get for the money is a huge plus too, underneath all that food on top is a huge serving of rice which is also delicious. Overall one of the best hidden gems I've found in the West Island, this is worth a drive from wherever you are to try this place.
We were there last weekend & the food was just amazing. It is best to call beforehand to see if they have everything you want to eat so they can make it for you too. It's a takeout counter, not a sit-in. The food was authentic & very flavourful. My Jamaican friend approved the authenticity & said it was good. I really loved the jerk chicken. Will be coming back again soon.

First time eating here at Janette's, I ordered a Oxtail & a Jamaican Patty. Taking a bite of the Oxtail meat felt like a burst of sunshine in my mouth!☀️The Oxtail plate was amazing. Gorgeous & very generous portions. The Jamaican Patty was also pretty good. I recommend to all Spicy Caribbean Cuisine Lovers. I'll be back soon for that delicious Jerk Chicken!! Overall, Great experience I'd give it a 5/5. ❤️
First time i ever tried jamaican food & it did not disappoint everything tastes so fresh & you know cause there's a line of people waiting for their orders. The patty is to die for & the plate of jerk chicken is also good. The prices are simple amazing. I will be back
if u don't know.. now u should, the best Jamaican food around town .. Yes, when you order for pick up, you have to wait about 40 minutes because they make everything FRESH!!! so delicious & the best Jamaican food best jerk best goat best everything!!! if u want to order , do it way in advance that way u won't wait too long☺️it's so worth it ;) i don't have too many pictures because we too hungry haha! but yeah wish they were open everyday lol
