The food was utterly splendid, we ordered the oxtail, which was a generous portion with fall of the bone meat, fluffy rice, & delicious sides, the jerk chicken, was juicy, tender, flavourful & delightfully seasoned. The workers were kind & had patience when we were choosing things to order for the first time, & the food arrived piping hot with proper plating. The chill, calm vibe of the location made the minutes waiting for our food pass by quickly. (To avoid wait calling to order in advance is recommended)
Would definitely visit again if given the chance, however we were just passing by Montreal on a trip.

Janette's Spicy Caribbean Food is a delightful haven for those craving traditional Caribbean flavors. Opting for takeout, I was eager to see if the dishes would maintain their promised reputation & they did, spectacularly.
I ordered the Chicken Jerk Mix, & it was a revelation in a takeout box. The chicken was coated in aromatic spices, with a delightful kick from the Scotch bonnet peppers. The flavors were robust & tantalizing, providing an authentic taste of the Caribbean even from the comfort of home.
Alongside the chicken, I couldn't resist trying the Oxtail, which truly stole the show. The meat was tender, succulent, & infused with a deeply savory gravy. The rich, bold taste of the oxtail, paired with aromatic seasonings, showcased Janette's mastery in capturing the essence of Caribbean cooking.
Janette's takeout experience is not just convenient but a journey through vibrant, spicy, soulful dishes that transport you straight to the Caribbean islands. It's a must-try for anyone looking to enjoy authentic flavors without dining in.
WOW!! What a gem. Driving by, I caught sight of it. It's a hole in the wall, but had to give it a try. It is a take-out only, no sit-down, but the food is real deal flavor. Had the jerk chicken, which was cooked to perfection, the rice delicious, & the in-house-made hot sauce fantastic. The staff is extremely nice. Wonderful island vibes & delicious food-what is not to love? Everyone should be supporting local small businesses like these. Generous portions & reasonable prices. Going back to have the goat & the oxtail.
Takeout place... FOOD IS AMAZING DROVE OVER AN HOUR TO GET HERE & WILL BE BACK - beautiful service family owned authentic!! It's my first time here & I LOVE IT!!! They recommend to call & order so it's faster but it was pretty fast regardless I'm happy we came here & I can't wait to be back!!! Everyone I spoke to on the line said it's the best & they always come back they recommended the mix plate oxtail/jerk chicken! We also got the rotti chicken & more anyways you must try it!!! Supporting this local business is a must because they deserve it!!!
First time eating here at Janette's, I ordered a Oxtail & a Jamaican Patty. Taking a bite of the Oxtail meat felt like a burst of sunshine in my mouth!☀️The Oxtail plate was amazing. Gorgeous & very generous portions. The Jamaican Patty was also pretty good. I recommend to all Spicy Caribbean Cuisine Lovers. I'll be back soon for that delicious Jerk Chicken!! Overall, Great experience I'd give it a 5/5. ❤️

Pour commencer, je suis un bon mangeur de nature, j'adore essayer les cuisines d'ici & d'ailleurs. Aujourd'hui, mon choix c'est arreté sur Janette's spicy carabbean food. J'avais envie de oxtail !! En arrivant, je reçois, le meilleur accueuil. Le chef ouvre la petite fenêtre pour prendre ma commande & m'a donné un props comme le ferait un ami de longue date. 👊🏿🧑🏿🍳 J'ai pris l'assiette mixte jerk chicken & oxtail. &... wow je referai le detour sans hesiter. Merci beaucoup, j'ai adoré mon experience, c'était delicieux. Je recommande à tout le monde 🙌🏼

It's unheard of here in Montreal, & it's a game-changer. & let's talk about their Jerk chicken-it actually tastes like it's been kissed by the fire, giving it that authentic, smoky flavor that's simply irresistible. Their curry goat is some of the best I've tasted, & they don't skimp on portions. It's spicy, flavorful, & everything you could want in a curry. Plus, they offer boneless goat roti for those looking for an easy-to-eat goat experience. Both the white rice & rice & peas are cooked to perfection, & you'll even get a fried dumpling with your meal-which, by the way, are absolutely fantastic. I always find myself wishing for just one more. Last but not least, their homemade pepper sauce is out of this world. I can't get enough, & they seriously need to bottle this stuff! So, if you're yearning for a taste of paradise without the plane ticket, make Janette's your go-to spot. With friendly service, delicious food, & vibes that'll transport you to the islands, it's the only place you'll want to be!
Excellent food with great service from the man serving the food. Would recommend the oxtail as they are very tender, flavourful & tasty. Overall an excellent place to buy food from!

Delicious! Scrumptious! Fire🔥🔥jerk chicken,curry goat,oxtail,rice & peas, plantain, fried dumplings!!! Everything seasoned, cooked to perfection!!! Can't wait to try the roti, snapper & Ackee & saltfish & patties, almost forgot the patties. Will be special ordering for the family asap!
Wow! Just wow. Absolutely delicious! I ordered the goat curry & oxtail combo, it is fall off the bone & melt in your mouth tender. Perfect level of spicy. We called ahead to place our large order & it was ready in less than an hour. Generous portions, I made 2 meals out of mine. A little obscure to find their location but well worth it. Very friendly staff! Love it! Highly recommend this hidden gem.
This is BY FAR the best Caribbean food I’ve had in montreal!! I’m a huge fan of Jerk chicken so last night got to try this place, I called right before they closed & they were more than happy to prepare our meal. The service was amazing!
We got jerk chicken, oxtail, & a side of Plaintains. The coleslaw was alright but the flavour on the chicken & the oxtail sitting on the rice. Janettes recipe feels warm & homemade. I personally like extra spicy so asked for some hot sauce on the side & they had a homemade hot sauce with one hell of a kick.
I’ll definitely be coming back! This place is incredible.
