We went to this restaurant & there were several empty tables, but the server told us they were all'reserved' & that we couldn't sit. We were about to leave, but decided to check OpenTable just in case, & saw that reservations were fully open for that same time slot. So we made a reservation on the spot, went back to her, & she suddenly looked annoyed & said,'Well, you can only sit at the bar.'
When we asked why, she changed her explanation, saying they were short on staff. But honestly, whether we sit at the bar or the table right behind it doesn't change the number of customers… so that made no sense. Not to mention, a few minutes later, several groups came in & were seated at the tables we originally wanted.
As for the food, the burrata with prosciutto was extremely salty. The pastas were okay, not bad, but nothing special either.

atmosphere & service were great but food & portion size was underwhelming. staff were very friendly & attentive. the cocktail menu was not very special in my opinion. the food was good but nothing special or mind blowingly good. the portions were also small for the price. the flavors for all the pastas were balanced & cooked well but not much food on the plate. the branzino was good but nothing amazing. the best value for price was the fried pork with cheese on top. overall, i would not return but id still say its worth a try if you're looking for a lighter dinner.

Overpriced & underwhelmed - the focaccia was not crispy & over salted, the portions were very small but reasonably tasty & the whole meal was overpriced (100$ for 2 small pasta plates & one piece of focaccia, no drinks). The menu was also very limited. Would not recommend.

As a tourist from Toronto, it was our first time trying this out. Service & food were both was okay. Pasta was a bit bland to be honest but maybe it's just the one I ordered.

Absolutely delicious gnocchi, some of the best pasta I have had in CA. Incredible service as well! I will definitely be back-thank you for such a wonderful experience!

WOW! The food here was absolutely delicious! We started with a few craft cocktails, I had the lemon one, it was refreshing & light. As a starter we had the Burrata, & what a surprise...served with a pistachio citron sauce that was incredible! Something very different than the usual Burrata dish. The sauce was soo tasty we were fighting over the last swipe with Foccia. For dinner I had the Branzino & my friend had the calamari with pasta dish. Both were fantastic! The fish was light, a little crispy & flavorful. Well balanced with the beurre blanc & the caviar was a nice touch, not overwhelming. The calamari was the freshest I have ever eaten. Soft, flavorful, not chewy in the slightest. We loved EVERY bite! Our waiter was attentive & very charming. He took great care of us. Highly recommend this place.

I needed to bring myself out on a date & decided to treat myself at Impasto. 1. Great atmosphere & ambiance; amongst friends, date or solo. 2. Food cooked at the perfection. Maybe the pasta was a tad salty but everyone has different palate. 3. Kind & attentive staff. My favourite seating might be by the window or bar (as always). Expect about $70-100 a head. Another one for my list when I have guest from out of town! Good job team ☺️💕

We were walking in the street & decided to try this place, it looked cozy from the outside. Seating area is good, a bit crowded & tables close to each other like every other restaurant in Montreal. Service was amazing, the staff really did their best. Food was delicious, ordered the chicken, & a kind of pasta. Both were great, I recommend also trying the Ricotta cheese with honey appetizer. The only down side for me was that the menu is a bit limited.

My partner & I opted for the 4-course meal priced at $90, & initially, I was a bit hesitant about the cost. However, we were very satisfied with our decision. The restaurant has a fantastic vibe, & the server was incredibly knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly & accommodated my partner's preference for no raw meat. The ambiance was just right-warm & cozy. The pastas, including the squash ravioli, were superb. The attention to ingredient quality was evident in every dish. Whether it's a date night or a special family outing, this place is spot-on :)

The interiors of the restaurant were beautiful & their food was just as good! We ordered pasta & all agreed that the food was great. The service was friendly & attentive, they kindly explained their menu & answered all our questions. Definitely recommend going to Impasto.

Excellent service & delicious homemade pasta every time we visit. Great atmosphere, very nice spot for a date night in the heart of little Italy. I highly recommend giving Impasto a visit!
