I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience fell far below them.
The food was deeply disappointing. The dishes lacked balance, freshness, & overall attention to detail. What was presented as refined cuisine felt uninspired & poorly executed, especially considering the pricing & reputation.
The service mirrored the food - inattentive, distant, & at times noticeably snobbish. Hospitality should make guests feel welcome, yet the atmosphere suggested that customers were an inconvenience rather than valued patrons.
The ambiance also left much to be desired. Instead of feeling warm, sophisticated, or inviting, the environment felt cold & uncomfortable, making it difficult to relax or enjoy the evening.
Overall, the restaurant seems to rely more on image than substance. Sadly, it is not a place I would recommend or return to.
We had high expectations but we were really disappointed. Service was incredibly slow (we waited over 30 minutes to receive our food). Food was not good (it did not had any flavor & the meat was overcooked). I would absolutely not recommend this place.
Decent food?! Portion sizes were generous but flavor was nothing really special for the price. I sat by myself at the bar & the bartender Peter was lovely, his manager?! (The guy in a suit, not so much!) the place was noticeably empty & be nice to customers. Specially a woman alone at the bar, it can be an intimidating experience already. I ordered what was recommended & still couldn't find much flavor.
Enjoyed thoroughly. We were 6 people. Everyone enjoyed their meal & service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Accueil correct, ça semblait difficile de nous choisir une table. Après quelques minutes d'attente on a demandé d'être près de la fenêtre, après une autre vérification dans le système ce n'était pas possible & les places sont restées sans client tout le temps que nous étions là. Le menu comporte très peu de choix & ce qui est offert est très plate. On demande des cafés filtres, c'est long, finalement les cafés arrivent avec du lait juste assez pour deux personnes & nous sommes trois & deux sucres pour trois personnes. Je décide de prendre l'omelette Henri à 22$, parfaite & décevante à la fois, M. Birks serait fâché de voir ça. Voulez-vous d'autres cafés? Nous répondons tous oui, les cafés'filtres' arrivent, pas de lait, pas de sucre mais marc de café inclus dans la tasse.
22$ pour pas grand chose quand l'expérience du service impeccable est là ça ne me dérange pas.
Nous sommes passé il n'y a pas longtemps après l'achat d'un montre chez Birks. J'ai été déçu du service mais je me suis dis que j'étais peut-être mal tombé. Aujourd'hui j'ai eu la confirmation que ce n'est pas un endroit où je vais retourner ni le recommander.

As a loyal customer staying at Birks, I regularly come for breakfast. On this occasion, I ordered a small omelette, intending to have pancakes afterward. However, I was served something different-apparently by the manager himself. When I explained that it wasn't what I had ordered, he responded with arrogance & told me to leave the restaurant if I wasn't satisfied.
At first, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Unfortunately, he was serious. The level of disrespect & lack of customer service was truly shocking!!!!
I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service reçu par François, il était très gentil du début jusqu'à la fin. Il nous a conseillé un vin rouge français qui était très bon avec mon plat. Je le recommande fortement.
Très déçue Je voulais y aller depuis longtemps & la qualité autant nourriture que service n'y est pas du tout. Les cocktails même pas de garnish, la soupe à l'oignon vraiment pas bonne c'est plus une compotée avec à peine un peu de fromage, les pétoncles sableuse avec très peu d'accompagnement …. Même pas de food check pour savoir si tout était correct, on nous a même pas proposé de pain… pour une addition à 150 dollars par personne je suis très déçue je ne reviendrai pas & je ne recommande pas !
I am writing this review to mention 2 exceptional employees who we met while visiting from Mississauga Ontario on the weekend of Dec 13th to the 15th. We went for my birthday dinner on the Friday night & had the absolute pleasure of meeting Christiana & Jonathan. They both provided top notch customer service & definitely went above & beyond for Tom & I. The Saturday we went into the lounge for a beverage & were greeted by Christiana. She remembered us by name & sent over some delicious desserts as she remembered we were too full at dinner the night before to have dessert. They both provided exceptional service & made us feel so welcome. They are both sooo personable & friendly. I hope if we ever get back to Montreal we have the pleasure of seeing Christiana & Jonathan again. I hope your restaurant realizes how lucky you are to have 2 exceptional employees representing your restaurant. I would highly recommend your restaurant. Lynn & Tom Mississauga Ontario.
Amazing experience! Very nice French atmosphere decor, & I had the home smoked salmon for appetizer & the famous Braised beef casserole for main entrée, was fabulous! I recommend!
Worst brunch in town. Over priced. I ordered the lobster egg Benedict ~ it was very small & taste less, no sides of potatoes, nothing. We ordered some breakfast potatoes extra, the potatoes were not cooked well... my friend ordered some pancakes. It looks like the McDonald's happy meal with some canned fruits that makes no sense. Very big disappointment. I am a foodie. I know the best brunch place in downtown Montreal & I definitely do not recommend this place for brunch. The only good thing about this place is that it looks amazing but the service is just OK as well. They're not so attentive about you.

Superbe expérience, notre serveur Arnaud était agréable & au taquet ! Service très professionnel & chaleureux avec petites attentions, anticipant nos demandes & répondant rapidement à nos besoins. Niveau nourriture, c'était bien, nous nous sommes régalés mais sans plus. La recommandation vin était excellente, sublime. Seul petit bémol, il n'est pas très simple de se garer à proximité, mais il ne faut pas s'arrêter à ça & louper une belle adresse. Notre serveur nous a d'ailleurs gentiment conseillé pour notre prochaine visite, ce qui est très apprécié.
Franchement décevant... Un restaurant qui se prétend'français' mais qui sert des portions minuscules à des prix exorbitants. C'est inadmissible pour un établissement de ce niveau de facturer de telles sommes pour des portions aussi dérisoires. J'ai commandé le poisson du jour & des profiteroles, & je suis sorti de là encore affamé, avec une facture de près de 150$ avant les tips & les taxes. Honnêtement, il y a bien d'autres restaurants à Montréal qui offrent une meilleure qualité pour un prix bien plus raisonnable. Je ne reviendrai pas, & je ne le recommande pas.
Le service de Raphaël nous a charmées moi & mes collègues! il est drôle, rapide & très gentil. Je recommande de venir à ce restaurant & de demander pour lui pour optimiser l'expérience de votre repas! :)
The quality of service is excellent; our waiter was friendly & knows how to provide good service. The ambiance was pleasant, & the dishes were good. The red wine was delicious. I recommend it.
Food, service, atmosphere all top notch at Henri. We just experienced it through their private event option. They have a room overlooking the restaurant. Highly recommended if you need that
