The ambiance is warm, intimate, & thoughtfully designed-calm, elegant, & inviting without feeling formal. The service truly stood out: friendly, attentive, & genuine, especially at the bar, where everything felt relaxed & well cared for. The food was excellent, but it was the atmosphere & service that made the night feel special. A place that makes you want to slow down & enjoy every moment.
We were staying at the hotel. We arrived at the restaurant for breakfast at 10:30 a.m. We were told there was no more breakfast & the restaurant was closed, even though the room was full at that time. Very strange service! This was not mentioned anywhere. As a hotel guest, it's very unpleasant to wake up without breakfast. Keep this in mind when booking.
After that, we decided to check on you that evening. The website said the restaurant was open until 11:00 PM, but we arrived at 9:43 PM & were told the kitchen was already closed. Keep that in mind if you're staying at this hotel & going to this restaurant. Now we'll have to go outside & find a worse place.
The manager on December 8th 2025 was the worst. Not only was he very unpleasant, he also did everything to push me out 20 min before the official close. & I was a hotel guest!
Cool place as it's right by Philips square & connected to the hotel. The ceiling height is super high so creates a really nice atmosphere inside. Ordered the French onion soup, duck & the cuit chocolate. The soup was perfect for a cold night, would've been better if it was cheesier but still very good otherwise. The duck was great, a modest half serving was enough to leave room for dessert which was the cuit chocolate… super rich & sweet so you might want to split this dessert. Really nice place to dine out with a great ambiance.
We travelled from a few hours away & had been planning this 24hrs getaway for quite some time. We had only wanted to stay within the hotel grounds & are absolutely delighted that we did.
We got to Henri's at 7pm as per our reservation & were seated immediately without any issues.
The hostess was friendly & also recognized us from earlier in the day.
We sat a the bar which was clean & lively.
Started off the evening with a bottle of wine, followed by escargots & a few other mains. The meals were spectacular but above everything was the service we received from Peter (what a hard working individual) & Dave (one of the best servers I've had) was like no other. They took care of us like they had known us for years.
Thanks to those two, we will be back again & will make sure we spread the word that Henri's is the place to be in downtown Montreal.
Gabriel, Christiana, & Mika were magnificently accommodating, kind, & professional! We will book our next stay at the hotel & dinner & brunch ❤?🇨🇦🙏
Very elegant room... but a little meh. For the price, I was underwhelmed, to be honest. The food was fine but not up to the standard I was expecting, especially with being part of such a lovely hotel. The staff seemed flustered & were quite slow, although very polite & good service once it happened. However, the wine pours were inconsistent, & I asked for some bread only to be told 20 mintues later they were'out,' I finished my meal by then, so it didn't matter, but still. Unfortunately, a few of my mussles weren't cleaned properly, so it took away from the delicious sauce. The creme brule was standard, & my rose was decent. One thing I will highlight though, in the area in a pinch, if you dont want to walk anymore, it works.
I was looking for a breakfast option, & the staff recommended Eggs Benedict. It was my first time trying it, & it was delicious & beautifully presented. I wasn't a hotel guest; I was just passing by & decided to have an experience there. I was not disappointed at all. The room was nice, & the staff was gentle & accommodating. It's a lovely memory to add to my travel collection.
Love the atmosphere. Feels like you're in Europe. But because the windows were opened, there were a LOT of bugs. We got bugs in our wine & the waitress thought it was alright & didn't help us. Food was decent. Their oyster selection was amazing! Best thing we had that night! Service was decent, wasn't above & beyond, should've been better for a fancy hotel dining room however.
This place is amazing & offer a 5 star atmosphere like the what you get at ritz or four season without the crazy prices!! I love this hotel as well. The best burger in the city for sure.
Save yourself the disappointment & go visit Monarque, Holder or L'Express instead. This place expensive because it's in a fancy hotel. The food is mediocre considering the price, the French fries came out cold, like come on... Don't get me wrong the food wasn't bad, however you expect much more considering we have so many amazing French restaurants in Montreal.
Surprisingly good. Very convenient, right next to Hotel n all worldwide famous jewelry brands. Highly recommend!
Well situated in downtown Montreal in the Birks Hotel our group of 6 enjoyed a delicious Sunday Brunch with outstanding service. The restaurant is beautiful, the seating was comfortable, we took our time to enjoy the food as well as the company & were never rushed. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon were beautifully plated as was the cheese plate. I will be returning
