She had the gnocchi & I had the burger. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful & the service was impeccable; from the hostess, to the server & to the manager. You must try the incredible tarte tatin & crème brûlée! Thank you, we will be back.
I loved Henri Brasserie Française. Chic but not pretentious at all (relax, which is always a great thing). You feel good here, exactly as it should happen at every single restaurant as that is supposed to be the purpose of anything related to the hospitality industry (hosting patrons, pleasing the patrons in return for their money), but not all restaurants manage to do that as successfully as Henri. & the place is beautiful. Service is superb. That Hollandaise Sauce really stood out, by Montreal Hollandaise Sauce restaurant standards, the homemade brioche bread (of the Eggs Benedict) at this brunch at Henri is what dreams are made of.
A beautiful spot for a coffee, cocktails or a meal. Very centrally located as well!
I was looking for a breakfast option, & the staff recommended Eggs Benedict. It was my first time trying it, & it was delicious & beautifully presented. I wasn't a hotel guest; I was just passing by & decided to have an experience there. I was not disappointed at all. The room was nice, & the staff was gentle & accommodating. It's a lovely memory to add to my travel collection.
The Henri Brasserie Française is usually always a sure thing for brunch. Everytime we come we always have a great time & experience & Mimosas are yummy. With those reasons we came for the Easter brunch. They had a special Easter menu & we ordered one of everything creating our own tasting menu, plus the seafood tower & an additional dessert. The seafood tower was a great way to start our meal. Including lobster, shrimp cocktail, & oysters that were fresh & perfectly clean & shucked. Easter menu: The rabbit croquettes were fresh & crispy but left a bit to be desired in the taste profile. It was more of a crispy mini arancini with I'm assuming bits of rabbit. Couldn't really make any meat out to be honest I could only make out the rice. The rabbit must have been busy delivering Easter eggs because he was MIA in our croquettes. Also a very small dish, we got 3 croquettes total, & 2 of them were the size of a large marble, the third was even smaller. The dish was mostly shaved cucumber. The chicken & waffles were delicious. Chicken strips were fresh hot & crispy, waffles had a crispy exterior & soft & fluffy when you cut into them, & the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. All drizzled with maple syrup. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender & rich, the mashed peas were very pulpy in texture & a very dense. It would have been nicer if the peas were blended with fluffy mashed potatoes. The bitter chocolate tarte dessert was refreshing with the citrus gel & wine foam. La goutte chocolatée was just the right amount of chocolate with the chocolate biscuit & chocolate cream mousse. A nice balance of textures with creamy & crispy with almonds crisps & cocoa nibs. The restaurant is beautiful with all the architectural details from the molded ceilings down to the stained glass. The service was good! Our server Dom was great & friendly, only opportunity was having to ask for a refill to our water glasses. To conclude we had a nice time as usual, but there were a few things that could've been better. Still recommend for brunch though, & valet is a plus who like hunting for a parking spot.
A very lovely dinner & great atmosphere in a beautiful building. The team were very attentive & helpful with choices for food & wine.
Beautiful, elegant restaurant with professional service standards, but the food was a fail. Ordered the special-of-the-day salmon tartare & it was anything but special. The french fries were cold & the raw salmon was warm & smelly. It took only one bite to know it was off. The waiter offered to replace it, but my guest was halfway through his meal & we were a bit rushed, so I declined. I would have paid, but they did not charge me for the salmon tartare. I won't be returning soon since the pungent smell of warm raw salmon has a way of staying with you for a while.
Went last night. Everything was delicious. Filet mignon cooked beautifully. Service & ambiance just made the whole experience unforgettable. Will definitely be back. Great job & Thank you all for a great evening!
We had a fun night at Brasserie Henri last Friday. Beautiful location & very chic atmosphere. The service was good. A little confusing at time since we had multiple waiters serving us. I would have preferred one single waiter. However, the service was not altered in any way. The food was average. Nothing to write home about. The presentation of the gnocchi was lacking. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, but the gratin dauphinois at a little too much liquid for my taste. L'île flottante was surprisingly tasty.
A bit disappointed after seeing ratings & comments on Internet. The place is beautiful but the food is soso for the price. I took an appetizer, a main dish (burger), & a dessert with a glass of red wine for a bit more than 100$ totally. For the wine, 15 dollars a glass, the waiter barely tries to reach the threshold line on the glass, not generous at all. For the Angus burger, they don't ask how you want your meat to be cooked. Results, the meat is over cooked, you can't feel any taste of your meat! The fries were over cooked as well... For the appetizer, 5 low quality prawns from Argentina for 23 dollars. The dessert was the only satisfying dish for the price. Honestly I wouldn't recommend the place.
Well situated in downtown Montreal in the Birks Hotel our group of 6 enjoyed a delicious Sunday Brunch with outstanding service. The restaurant is beautiful, the seating was comfortable, we took our time to enjoy the food as well as the company & were never rushed. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon were beautifully plated as was the cheese plate. I will be returning
I’ve had the privilege of experiencing quite a few of the upscale Mtl restaurants & this restaurant was by far one of the best in terms of price, ambiance & especially SERVICE. The service is top notch & combine that with the excellent food, drinks (they make excellent mocktails), & beautiful scenery (the architecture is simply divine).
I highly recommend this place!!
A beautiful upscale restaurant located inside the Birks Hotel right across from Phillips Square in Montreal.
Classic French flair with elevated twists. Went for a work lunch & the servings were generous but not overwhelming. Ordered the chèvre salad which was amazing. Warm
Goat cheese was served on a toasted baguette slice with endives & greens to accompany. Highly recommended especially for a midday meal.
Coffee was excellent & everyone drooled over the lemon tart. Will check out again for dinner menu.
