We made rsvp for dinner for my birthday here as we were visiting Montreal. We were booked for counter top & what a treat that was! Lovely & fun 26 top restaurant that's only open starting Thursday evening!

Getting to see the food prepared & having Chef David come to the counter top to see how we were doing & nice chat during our dinner.

The staff was amazing & attentive - the bar made some tasty cocktails! Mezcal Negroni!!!!

For dinner (no pics):
Salmon tartare - amazing & well seasoned. Just an absolute delightful 1st bite! Must order

Caesar salad w/caviar topping is decadent! The Caesar has capers & lardons & wow! Rich creamy salty & the crunch of fresh romaine that is prepared by in a wooden bowl! Order & try a decadent Caesar!

Tomato salad with pesto, croutons, sliced chorizo & burrata - Heirloom tomatoes dressed in the pesto & topped with fresh basil - sweet, light, with richness from olive oil & the herbaceous pesto & the small bits of chorizo bring in the smokiness to bring in some richness! Definitely have to get if you're a tomato person!!!

Entrees - we both went with specials:

Rare duck breast w/ beets & peaches & some baby carrots finished with some cognac - nice & rich the beets & peaches sort of turn into a cherry flavor that's dark rich. It was good but I thought if there were some acid it would cut through the decadent flavors but bring it all together . Good dish!!!

Grilled sea bass with blanc sauce with hints of herbs & small potatoes & peppers- nice light grilled fish. The sauce was flavored well & brought the plate together! Another good dish!

Strawberry shortcake - trust me & ORDER THIS!

Chocolate cake with cream cheese topping - choco lovers delight!

Also the staff & chef are why you come here - just a friendly & local feel & just a sense of fun here! The staff is so attentive & lovely to converse with! Definitely visit here for great friendly restaurant/bistro where it seems everyone wants to know your name!!! Cheers Restaurant Gus & Chef David!!!

Everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly & attentive, & the service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm & cozy. I especially loved the ketchup served with the contre-filet-it was unique. This place is definitely a gem. Highly recommended!

Petit bistrot/steakhouse à l'européenne, très bon, excellent service, bonne ambiance. Cuissons parfaites. Bon choix de vins à des prix raisonnables. Réservation par téléphone seulement mais vaut la peine. Je recommande.

This feels very local. Booking a table is only done on the phone which is not great but works :-)
The food was really good. I had the Tomahawk & my daughter got the Lamb. Amazing.

Quelle magnifique expérience culinaire. Tout était absolument parfait du début à la fin.

Nous avons commencé le repas avec des huîtres fraîches, servies sur un lit de glace avec une touche de citron. C'était un pur délice. Le reste des plats, incluant la viande tendre accompagnée de beurre aux herbes, était tout aussi savoureux.

L'ambiance est chaleureuse & très accueillante. C'est une adresse incontournable que je recommande vivement à tous les amateurs de bonne chère. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
