Le Garde Manger est une sorte de joyau culinaire qui, de prime abord, n'en présente pas les apparences. Il faut d'abord dénicher l'endroit, dans une ruelle quelque part près des quais du Vieux-Montréal. De plus, ce bistro sans prétention, situé près du centre des affaires, ne possède pas d'enseigne extérieure. Malgré tout, depuis son ouverture en juin 2006, il est devenu une adresse de choix auprès des professionnels branchés qui ont envie d'une cuisine de la Côte Est et d'une pinte de bière locale après une dure journée de travail.

What an incredible experience beginning to end. The restaurant is warm & inviting, the staff very friendly & knowledgeable - all of their recommendations were fantastic.
A huge thanks to David & Chef for ensuring our dinner was impeccable. I have some significant dietary constraints & wasn't sure I would be able to participate with the rest of the group in the storied tasting menu. However, David was most kind in coordinating with me in advance a full presentation with modifications to ensure I could enjoy the evening.
Everything from the Ahi, to the beets, to the swordfish, salmon, carrot & the most incredible apple & coconut sorbet was delightful. Truly a unique & inviting experience, highly recommend.
Go, it is one of the best restaurants I've been. Highly recommended. Find it by the address . The table was ready at 8 sharp. You need to make a reservation.

Highly recommend you will not be disappointed. We spent the weekend in mtl from Toronto & ended up there 2 nights out of the 3. Once for dinner & once to finish off our night with drinks because the vibe was just so good & all the staff was so friendly. The food was outstanding & drinks were on point.
Wow wow wow wow. Food was an amazing experience! Get the chef's choice for sure. Service was amazing. Everyone there makes you feel like you're the only one there. Highly recommend.

The bartender, a young woman, was both professional & impressively knowledgeable about wine & cocktails. The service, ambiance & music top notch. Highly recommended if you only have time for one restaurant in Montreal, make it this one!
What an experience. Firstly a shout out to whomever hires the staff. We interacted with 4 different people & all were authentically friendly & very competent. Water was always full & napkins folded if we stepped away from the table. I tried folding my napkin before I got up & they recognized the rubbish job I did & refolded it. Jordon took care of us but there was a team working with him to ensure we had the best experience.
We had the 5 course chef menu & were impressed with the selection with each course. The seafood plate was amazing & included a half lobster. Each course had a sampling of 3 different dishes which were all excellent.
Jordan was happy to explain the dishes when we had questions & made sure we had the best experience. Highly recommend!

The minute you walk in, you are treated to mouth-watering aromas from the grill & overall kitchen. Seafood is spectacular & wine list very interesting. Highly recommended.
What an amazing experience, from service to food. Emma was our bartender/ sever. She was amazing, she was very knowledgeable on food & beverage. Food was absolutely amazing. Will definitely come back & highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.

Wow, wow, wow was this place FANTASTIC!!! My husband & I were lucky enough to stumble upon this cute, cozy, charming restaurant. There are no signs, so we just went in & gave it a shot. We just saw a performance at the Centaur Theatre up the street & walked by. I noticed the fireplace through the window & saw it as quite lively for almost 10pm on a cold Wednesday evening. We entered with a friendly greeting by David, who sat us at the end of the bar bc all tables were taken. The restaurant is intimate, warm, & cozy. The lovely bartender, Emma, was amazing! She was professional, personable, & took great care of us, which really added to the dining experience. She walked us through the menu, suggested options, made exceptional drinks, all with a warm & friendly demeanor. Being a seafood specialty restaurant, we ordered all seafood. We ordered 3 starters (tuna, arctic char, & snow crab), & 1 main (swordfish), & focaccia bread. Every bite was exceptional! We were in seafood heaven! I HIGHLY recommend & look forward to our next visit.
Garde Manger exceeded expectations. Every bite was delicious across all the courses & the cocktails were incredible. Highly recommend the Pour Georgette. Food wise, we absolutely loved the octopus appetizer & the combination of ingredients in the sea bass. The coffee cake was an amazing way to top off the meal. My only complaint - I wish the focaccia was warm :)
Hands down, the BEST culinary experience I've ever had! My friends & I had the chef's 4 course menu, & every single bite was absolutely exquisite. You can tell that every element of each dish was well perfected & treated with such care. The atmosphere was lively & joyful & the service was quick, highly attentive & detail oriented. 10/10 recommend & can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Montreal. It's a can't miss experience.

An exquisite meal in Montreal. My partner & I picked a handful of dishes to share so we could get a good sampling of what the restaurant had to offer. We loved every bite! Would highly recommend the albacore tuna with capers, the wild mushrooms & the focaccia is unbelievable.
I mean.... I'm not even sure where to begin. I'd like to call myself a foodie that will not go to a restaurant before first looking up it's reviews, comments & social media page. With sush a high rating, it actually made me doubtful. I looked through the comments hoping to find negatives comments (which would still make sense even for a great restaurant) but, I couldn't find anything. Anyways ... we decided to go ahead & choose Garde Manger for our special couple date night. Let me tell you. Wtv could make you doubt about trying this restaurant, forget about it. The experience was IMPECCABLE from START TO FINISH! I even doubted the waitresses on her recommendations (I like to be smart like that haha) & I had to end up apologizing to her for attempting to not follow her recommendations We had the chef menu. Mind you, this restaurant is up there price wise but every single dollars is worth it. I've tried many highly rated restaurants, some overhyped, some very delicious but this one... I'm still 24hours later trying to find something to not give it the TOP 1 RESTAURANT I've tried so far in MTL. It is was it is. Absolutely amazing experience food wise, in terms of service (these guys are just top notch) & atmosphere. Highly recommend!! We had mussels, tomatoes, salmon, beets, octopus. Everything was unique, flavorful & just perfectly served. These guys know what they're doing.
