We visited 12 years ago & had an amazing experience then. The food, the service, the ambience. Happy to say that in 2026 the experience is as good as ever. Staff makes you feel welcome & like you're already home. Congrats on your 20 year anniversary Garde Manger! We will see you again!
12 years ago my sister & I visited this restaurant. It was such a joy going back & sharing our stories with the current crew. While the restaurant has had renovations, the service & food remain the same. Refined, excellent & delicious 😋. We had a new photo taken to commemorate the occasion.
Exceptional dinner at Garde Manger! The service was warm & personal, & the music & atmosphere were lively but comfortable. There are 4 choices of chef's menus based on number of courses & premium ingredients, & we chose the smaller premium menu which was $165, adapted for a pescatarian. All of the courses were shared plates & it was a huge amount of food. First was a chilled seafood platter with oysters, lobster, shrimp, mussels, sturgeon pâté, & smoked char rillete. Then we had 3 appetizers, including the signature snow crab on brioche. Two seasonal mains included halibut with morels & scallops with peas, accompanied by roasted carrots with stracciatella (could have been a vegetarian main). We finished with 2 desserts. Everything was amazing!

I have never written a Google review in my ten years of being in the restaurant industry & 28 years on this planet. Im forced to start simply with the fact that the mere two & a half hours we spent here could not have been better
Tranquil lighting. Gorgeous atmosphere, a gentle roar of happy clients & music juuust over it all, just loud enough to blur the conversations around you, just loud enough to create an intimate experience albeit the raucous elegance happening all around us in such close quarters.
Sitting under their gorgeous candelabra sipping the first of our many cocktails to be had this evening we glanced through the menu. Quickly coming to the consensus that each choice sounded better than the last, we opted to relinquish our fates to the staff & went for the 4 course experience, we decided to go for their starter level instead of living dangerously. Quite truly my only regret of the night.
Each course was more poignant than the last, destroying all expectations one beautiful step at a time. The service was unparalleled, I dropped my fork which was replaced 5 seconds later, only for someone else to appear on the other side of the table 3 seconds later to clear our entrees away without me even having the chance to turn around & thank them. Throughout the dinner our waters were never empty for more than a few seconds & anything unnecessary for this sensorial masterpiece of an experience would simply dissappear from the table without a second word.
Jihan our magnificent, quick witted server handled any questions we had without hesitation & was on his game every step of the way. I will say though, take what I say about him with a grain of salt, anyone who presents you a steamed lavender-citrus towelette to clean your hands right after you taste some of the best selection of raw seafood you've ever had, is definitely going to win some points at the end of the day.
This evening left us feeling invincible & will change how we look at other dining experiences in the future, thank you guys.
Garde Manger has been added to my list of favourite restaurants I've ever been to. It's not just the food, which is unique, delicious & impeccably prepared & presented, it's about the service.
The staff at Garde were attentive & personable. We were having a fun night with friends & they matched the vibe perfectly.
Lastly, the ambience of the restaurant is very special. It's elegant without being pretentious. It's a vibey, relaxed atmo that made us feel at home immediately.
Décevant pour nous on n'arrive de loin deuxième visite pour nous depuis 10 ans que long rêve d'y retourner bien pour nous c'était une mauvaise aventure en arrivant on n'a pris un cocktail j'ai senti la serveuse vraiment pressé de nous servir & prendre la commande nous avons commandé notre entrée qui était excellente vraiment délicieux j'ai dit à la serveuse on n'es vraiment pas pressé car ce soir on célèbre la vie la santé car la maladie fait toujours partie de notre vie un combat… elle me répond désolé votre commande es en chemin on voulait célébrer tout en savourant on reçoit nos assiettes on n'avait commander le Boeuf
Le boeuf était pas coupable & l'ensemble de l'assiette tellement salé que ça nous brulait la bouche je croyais que c'était juste la mienne mais mon copain aussi Alors on le dit à la serveuse elle nous dit bon vous aimez pas bien on répond c'est vraiment salé & on peut pas couper le boeuf elle prend nos assiettes d'une raideur & revient & met la facture sur la table omg la honte & la peine que j'ai :( quand elle revient je lui dis madame vous m'avez même pas demander si je voulais autre chose elle me répond oui je vous ai demandé 🙄 vraiment pas une belle atitude notre serveuse nous sommes arrivés à 7h & à 8 h 30 on était dehors on n'était tellement découragé

One of the best meals I have ever had. Every dish was excellent but the halibut was a generous serving, cooked to perfection & was wonderfully flavorful. Appetizers & side dishes were all superb. We are only visiting Montreal for three days but this meal will undoubtedly be one of the true highlights of our trip.
