My fiance & I celebrated our engagement here on July 4th (just 2 hours after!) & we were blown away. My fiance called a couple days prior to tell them that he was planning on proposing before we arrived & whether a bottle of champagne could be waiting on the table for us.

Not only did this happen, but nearly every staff member in the restaurant came by our table to congratulate us. Everyone was so incredibly friendly & excited - it was truly contagious. Our server, Taylor, was INCREDIBLE. We opted for the Chef Menu (the $295 pp option) & neither of us have had such an amazing meal before. Every course was delicious, beautiful, & thoroughly described to us. We enjoyed a seafood platter, scallops, beet salad, beef carpaccio, sweetbreads, caviar, wagyu beef, snow crab, rabbit agnolotti, halibut, yellow beans, corn, & the flourless chocolate cake. Everything we ate was perfect.

By the end of the night, we were the last customers in there. Multiple staff members joined us at our table to provide a toast to us. A dessert was brought by with a candle, & we were told to each make a wish for our marriage. Finally, the staff turned on'Chapel of Love' & encouraged us to get up & dance in the empty restaurant. This was one of the most beautiful moments of my life & was incredibly moved.

The kindness & thoughtfulness of the staff that night is unparalleled. We will remember our experience at Garde Manger for many, many years to come & we can't wait to come back. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We made the trip from Manitoba to visit Garde Manger, & it was spectacular. It was a dining experience we will never forget. We had the chefs menu, & the food was incredible. It was the best meal we've ever had. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the dishes were creative & used ingredients in multiple ways that we would have never thought of, & everything was perfectly paced so that we had time to digest before the next course. The standout dish was the seafood platter, as everything was incredibly fresh, especially the scallops. The service was also incredible, as we were treated incredibly well by multiple staff members. This was more of a dining experience than a dinner, & we could not be happier that this restaurant greatly surpassed our high expectations. This would be the crown jewel of any city

I've never had better seafood. The caviar was on point.

Exceptional dinner at Garde Manger! The service was warm & personal, & the music & atmosphere were lively but comfortable. There are 4 choices of chef's menus based on number of courses & premium ingredients, & we chose the smaller premium menu which was $165, adapted for a pescatarian. All of the courses were shared plates & it was a huge amount of food. First was a chilled seafood platter with oysters, lobster, shrimp, mussels, sturgeon pâté, & smoked char rillete. Then we had 3 appetizers, including the signature snow crab on brioche. Two seasonal mains included halibut with morels & scallops with peas, accompanied by roasted carrots with stracciatella (could have been a vegetarian main). We finished with 2 desserts. Everything was amazing!

I have never written a Google review in my ten years of being in the restaurant industry & 28 years on this planet. Im forced to start simply with the fact that the mere two & a half hours we spent here could not have been better

Tranquil lighting. Gorgeous atmosphere, a gentle roar of happy clients & music juuust over it all, just loud enough to blur the conversations around you, just loud enough to create an intimate experience albeit the raucous elegance happening all around us in such close quarters.

Sitting under their gorgeous candelabra sipping the first of our many cocktails to be had this evening we glanced through the menu. Quickly coming to the consensus that each choice sounded better than the last, we opted to relinquish our fates to the staff & went for the 4 course experience, we decided to go for their starter level instead of living dangerously. Quite truly my only regret of the night.

Each course was more poignant than the last, destroying all expectations one beautiful step at a time. The service was unparalleled, I dropped my fork which was replaced 5 seconds later, only for someone else to appear on the other side of the table 3 seconds later to clear our entrees away without me even having the chance to turn around & thank them. Throughout the dinner our waters were never empty for more than a few seconds & anything unnecessary for this sensorial masterpiece of an experience would simply dissappear from the table without a second word.

Jihan our magnificent, quick witted server handled any questions we had without hesitation & was on his game every step of the way. I will say though, take what I say about him with a grain of salt, anyone who presents you a steamed lavender-citrus towelette to clean your hands right after you taste some of the best selection of raw seafood you've ever had, is definitely going to win some points at the end of the day.

This evening left us feeling invincible & will change how we look at other dining experiences in the future, thank you guys.

TLDR ( The answer is yes. This place kicks ass)

Great all around; food, service location. Some of the best seafood we've had in North America.

My favorite cocktail & seafood place in Montreal, maybe the eastern seaboard. Don't skip your vegetables, as their sides are as great as their mains. The service is the most attentive I've had in a while, but never oppressive... perfect meal all around.

Solid seafood, but a fairly disappointing Chef du Menu.

Came in on a Monday night for the Chef du Menu. They don't list the dishes upfront, but given the restaurant's focus, I naturally expected a heavy lean toward seafood. But not exactly. This wasn't a traditional tasting menu, but rather a standard array of small plates you'd find at any generic New American spot. Barely any creative inspiration, no unique ingredients, & honestly, surprisingly little seafood.

It did start strong with a massive seafood tower. Snow crab, lobster, mussels, oysters, & sturgeon dip. My favorite part was honestly just the local oysters. Sweeter & less briny than the typical New England or Maine oysters I'm used to.

The rest of the evening fell off a cliff a bit. Not a single memorable dish. All I can really remember is a blur of creative-looking, over-engineered vegetable plates.

Overall, a tad overpriced for what you get. Rolling the dice on the Chef du Menu was probably the wrong call. I've hit a lot of tasting menus across Montreal, & this was the only miss. No idea what the kitchen is aiming for with this format, but if you go, absolutely stick to the à la carte menu.
